Key Responsibilities

Oversee the design of multi-discipline projects.
-
Review the drawings of subconsultants and suppliers and find errors and omissions.
-
Coordinate & relay design information to discipline leads, project coordinators and field staff
-
Evaluate technologies and complete design checks
-
Prepare reports, P&IDs, process layouts and review detailed fabrication drawings.
-
Challenge designs of other professionals and devise innovative, cost saving alternatives
-
Prepare detailed construction cost estimates and schedules
-
Write technical specifications and contract terms and conditions
-
Procure equipment and materials on time and under budget
-
Write proposals, ensuring all RFP requirements are met
-
Manage and coordinate work with other technical and field staff.
-
Submit, organize and maintain project documentation (RFI, CCO, CO, shop drawings, etc.).
-
Ensure that all construction and installation is performed in accordance with company and contractual standards of quality.
-
Complete site inspections and prepare as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and testing reports.
-
Provide a safe work environment through continuous training and development.
-
Demonstrate accountability, adaptability and analytical thinking.
-
Operate with honesty, integrity and respect.
Qualifications
-
5+ years experience designing and constructing treatment plants in Canada
-
5+ years of design management experience overseeing multiple engineering disciplines.
-
Highly detailed orientated with a track record for finding errors
-
Proven experience in overseeing projects from design to construction to commissioning
-
Experience in construction – either as a prime contractor or in construction management
-
Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering
-
Registered with Engineers and Geoscientists BC as a Professional Engineer, or the ability to be registered immediately.
-
Experience in water and wastewater process engineering
-
Knowledge of building and plumbing codes
-
Working knowledge of civil and structural engineering, HVAC, electrical, instrumentation and controls
-
Proficient in MS Office.
-
Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
-
Highly organized and motivated to carry out a variety of duties.
-
Aptitude to problem solve and think “outside the box”.
-
Willing to learn on and off the job. Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation (our Langley office is not accessible via public transit and some travel may be required).
