About The Role
The Sourcing Specialist at WilsonCTS is a vital role within the procurement and product development teams. This position is responsible for supporting new product initiatives by sourcing and managing relationships with international vendors. The role involves negotiating pricing, managing vendor documentation, conducting market research, and ensuring the seamless transition of products from development to launch. The ideal candidate will thrive in a detail-oriented environment, possess strong communication skills, and have a passion for working with tangible products in a manufacturing setting. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Vaughan, ON, requiring three days on-site per week, with the remaining days flexible for remote work.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess 2-5 years of experience in global sourcing, procurement, or product development support within consumer goods, home goods, softlines, or manufacturing sectors. Proven experience working with socially and environmentally compliant vendors is essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with teams such as Product Management, Design, Packaging, and Operations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required, along with the ability to present operational details clearly to internal stakeholders. Willingness and ability to travel nationally or internationally for trade shows, factory visits, or product development activities are also necessary. A relevant degree or certification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related fields is preferred.
Responsibilities
Vendor Management & Negotiation: Act as the primary contact for global suppliers, managing quotation requests, pricing negotiations, and logistics for samples and products. Costing & Landed Cost Execution: Develop and own landed product cost calculations, collaborating closely with Costing and Packaging teams to deliver accurate final models to Product Managers. Documentation & Data Management: Maintain detailed vendor files, including specifications, factory audit reports, contracts, production equipment lists, and supplier scorecards to ensure compliance and traceability. Market Research & Category Support: Conduct comprehensive market and competitive research for new product development, analyzing material usage, pricing trends, and product specifications across imported categories. Product Launch & Sample Library: Collaborate with Design and Development teams to support product launches sourced internationally, managing the central library of samples and swatches for easy access and reference. Transition & Continuous Improvement: Support product transition initiatives such as vendor switches, material updates, and price adjustments, while leading process improvement projects across the supply chain. Sales & Commercial Enablement: Regularly update and maintain sales kits to reflect new product introductions or modifications to existing product lines, ensuring sales teams are equipped with current information.
