The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Senior Analyst, Vibration to join our Central Engineering team in Sudbury. The role is a permanent position for an existing position vacancy.
As a Senior Analyst, Vibration you will provide proactive vibration monitoring services on critical rotating machinery to prevent production equipment failures or minimize the impact of vibration-related damage. Ensure equipment operates as designed without unscheduled component repairs by contributing to design reviews, quality assurance, instrumentation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance activities. The position is responsible for administering all aspects of vibration monitoring, including troubleshooting analysis, field rotor balancing, and technical design support for rotating machinery. Infrequent travel to our different mining sites and plants will be required.
Additionally, in this position you will:
- Conduct field rotor balancing services to reduce vibration to acceptable level standards.
- Support operations by responding to all machinery equipped with continuous vibration monitors which have initiated a danger level shutdown to quantify the severity of vibration cause and the immediate asset risk.
- Execute the vibration monitoring preventative maintenance (PM) program on critical rotating equipment for all Copper Cliff areas mines, mills, refineries and smelter.
- Conduct critical trouble shooting vibration analysis services to ensure production machinery can operate, provide around the clock call out services.
- Provide design and technical support on new machinery installation regarding their specification and their continuous vibration monitoring systems.
- Conduct vibration analysis on new equipment both at the machine manufactures plant and during on-site commissioning to ensure adherence to machine specifications.
- Specify the required instrumentation, software, testing and acceptance criteria required on new critical rotating equipment (fans, blowers, compressors, etc.)

About You
Education:
- Mechanical Engineering Technologist or Trade Technician Diploma.
- Certified Vibration Analyst Category 2 by the CMVA or equivalent.
Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in vibration analysis and rotor balancing is required.
- Knowledge and understanding of Bently Nevada vibration analysis software is an asset.
Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
- Takes initiative and can be self-directed to accomplish goals with minimum supervision.
- Skilled in data analysis and problem solving.
- Must have strong organization and time management skills.
- Understanding of the following instruments and software: Bently Nevada System 1, 3500 Rack, 2300 Rack, 1900/65 Rack, Ascent, Scout 100, ADRE 408, ADRE 208. RDI Motion Amplification
- Computer proficiency with servers, Bently Nevada software, Microsoft Office products, etc. is required
