About The Role Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular part time Clerk to join our dynamic team.

The Collections team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by collecting donor blood in a safe manner to enable safe products which save lives every day. In this role, you will be responsible for clerical work under the supervision of the manager. You will adhere to all current operating procedures and practice good judgement in the performance of job responsibilities while promoting the Centre's objectives through good interpersonal skills.

Formula for success

  • Utilizing your superior interpersonal and communication skills you will provide administrative support for training requirements; including file maintenance and controlled document management.
  • You will provide offsite support to Facilities; work orders, premise cleaning, fire safety, and security.
  • Leveraging your excellent organizational skills, you will coordinate, schedule functions/meetings/catering and record minutes of meetings.
  • Drawing from your experience in record management, you will keep records of requisitions and supplies.
  • You will prepare documents for shipping and off-site storage. Perform other department related tasks and duties as required.

Desired education and skills

  • Completion of secondary education. A minimum of three (3) years relevant office experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Effective communication (verbally and in writing) and interpersonal skills, ability to exercise sound judgement, tact and discretion when dealing with others.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with departmental staff, management, volunteers, and customers.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities within short timelines. A self starter. Must be flexible to adjust work schedule as required for document control implementations.
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of computers within a Windows NT operating system using Microsoft Office 365, Share Point, Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Exceptionally strong attention to detail in all aspects of work, including accuracy of data entry and output produced.

  • Shift/hours - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 8:00 to 14:45.
  • Physical requirements - ability to lift banker boxes (up to 25 lbs).
