About the role

Shake Shack Canada is looking for a naturally curious, culturally savvy storyteller and content creator who is eager to roll up their sleeves and help shape one of the most exciting food service brands in the country. As Marketing Coordinator, you'll be a key voice of our brand, responsible for creating scroll-stopping content and building a vibrant, engaged community across our growing footprint.

This is a high-output, hands-on content role on a small, ambitious team. We're looking for a true self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment, anticipates what's needed before being asked, and is genuinely excited to go above and beyond to bring big ideas to life. You'll be capturing moments at our Shacks, in the kitchen, at events, and out in the community, then turning them into content that resonates online. From shooting and editing on the fly to building out a thoughtful content calendar, you'll own how our brand shows up day-to-day.

The ideal candidate is hungry to learn, deeply proactive, and brings a creative, can-do mindset to everything they touch. You're equal parts strategic and scrappy, comfortable jumping behind a camera, juggling multiple workstreams, and partnering closely with our marketing team to ensure every piece of content aligns with Shake Shack's brand values and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Concept, shoot, and edit original content (photo, video, and graphics) across our social media channels, including TikTok, Instagram, and emerging platforms
  • Capture in-the-moment content at Shacks, events, and partner activations, often on the fly and in real time
  • Build, manage, and deliver against a social media content calendar that balances brand storytelling, trends, and tentpole moments
  • Set and execute social media and communications campaigns that align with broader marketing strategies
  • Stay on top of cultural moments, platform trends, and emerging formats, and translate them into smart, on-brand content ideas
  • Respond to comments and guest queries in a timely, on-brand manner
  • Monitor and report on content performance, feedback, and online reviews, using insights to sharpen what comes next
  • Manage and respond to guest hospitality inquiries via email in partnership with the guest hospitality team, delivering warm and timely communication
  • Help organize and show up for events that build community and boost brand awareness
  • Partner with marketing and cross-functional teams to ensure brand consistency across every touchpoint
  • Liaise with cross-functional departments to stay current on company updates and changes
  • Build relationships with our audience, potential guests, industry professionals, influencers, and media partners

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience at a similarly sized, fast-paced business
  • Proven experience creating content for social media, ideally within lifestyle, food, or consumer brands
  • Strong content creation skills across photography, video, and editing (CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut, or similar), with a portfolio or content samples to share
  • A sharp eye for design, aesthetics, and visual storytelling, with the ability to create a cohesive look and feel
  • A self-starter mindset with a track record of taking initiative, owning outcomes, and going the extra mile
  • Experience launching community initiatives (e.g., building an online forum, launching an ambassador program, creating an event series, or writing an email newsletter)
  • Ability to identify and track relevant content and community metrics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in digital marketing tools and analytics platforms, including Canva, Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator), Sprout Social, and Klaviyo
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities at once
  • Strong relationship-building and customer service skills
  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Bonus: Graphic design, motion graphics, or web design skills

What we offer:

  • Competitive compensation, including comprehensive benefits, spending account and professional development program.
  • Opportunity to develop skills and gain experience in multiple disciplines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Dynamic and fun office culture with colleagues who share the same core values.
  • Exclusive perks from our portfolio companies, including restaurants and fitness studios.

About Shake Shack

Hospitality
5001-10,000

Shake Shack sprouted from a hot dog cart in Madison Square Park (NYC) to support the Madison Square Park Conservancy’s first art installation. The cart was quite the success, with Shack fans lined up daily for three summers.

In 2004, a permanent kiosk opened in the park: Shake Shack was born. This modern day “roadside” burger stand serves up the most delicious burgers, hot dogs, frozen custard, shakes, beer, wine and more. An instant neighborhood fixture, we welcomed people from all over the city, country and world who gathered together to enjoy fresh, simple, high-quality versions of the classics. The rest, as they say, is burger history.

And since day one, it would not have been possible without our stellar team! As a member of the #ShackFam, you can expect an exciting work atmosphere with a culture focused on family, fun and community.

We’re committed to providing equal opportunities for success, removing obstacles and fostering a culture of diversity, inclusion and empowerment to ensure that Shake Shack continues to be a great place to work. That’s why we’re so proud to have earned 100% on Human Right Campaign’s 2019 Corporate Equality Index for LGBTQ-inclusive workplace policies and practices, a designation that highlights the core of our ethos here at Shake Shack.
