Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Dusty. Noisy. Dirty. Work setting: Industrial. Manufacture. Tasks: Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Operate hoisting and lifting equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Welding experience. Repair and maintain fabrication and laboratory equipment. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate. Fall Arrest Protection Training Course. Forklift Operator Certification. Type of materials: Stainless steel. Steel, iron and heavy metals. Welding techniques: Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG). Gas metal arc welding (GMAW). Flux core arc welding (FCAW). Multipass. Equipment and machinery experience: Arc welding machine. Electrical wiring devices. Specialization or experience: Green economy sector. Area of specialization: Custom fabrication. Machinery or equipment repair. Structural construction. Factory assembly. Teacher training or certification. Security and safety: Criminal record check.
