About the role
Our Ottawa based client in the Finance industry is looking for Senior SECRET security Cleared Database Administrator to support enterprise storage and database services across on-prem and Azure cloud environments. The Consultant will install, configure, maintain, secure, and optimize database platforms while providing operational support and resolving complex technical issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server (on-prem and Azure cloud HA environments).
- Perform database performance tuning, analysis, and monitoring.
- Implement and maintain backup/recovery strategies (RMAN, point-in-time recovery).
- Execute database security administration and ensure authorized data access.
- Maintain schema objects and support production migrations.
- Ensure data consistency and adherence to data model standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database technical issues, including complex escalations.
- Support and collaborate with existing DBA teams.
- Deliver additional related tasks as required.
Required Technical Experience (Minimum 5+ Years) Recent Hands-on Experience With
- Azure SQL & Azure SQL Managed Instance (MI)
- Oracle Exadata deployed in Azure environments
- Oracle 19c and SQL Server 2019+
- Cloud SQL PaaS services (Azure)
- Oracle Exadata Database Service
- PostgreSQL on Azure
- Oracle Exadata, Data Guard, RAC
- RMAN (backup, restore, PITR)
- Data Pump (database/data migration)
- Oracle TDE (Transparent Data Encryption)
Additional Considered Qualifications
