As a Bulk Loadout Operator, you'll play a critical role in keeping our production lines moving efficiently and safely. You will be responsible for inspecting all vessels for outgoing food product and ensuring they are sealed accurately, performing minor maintenance of equipment as required, operating the Track-mobile to position rail cars for loading, and completing required documentation. All duties and responsibilities must be completed while ensuring compliance with OH&S and food safety requirements.
DutiesResponsibilities:
- Operate bulk load-out systems for all product lines
- Conduct vessel inspections for cleanliness and food safety compliance
- Managing product blending to meet customer specifications
- Seal, document, and verify all outbound shipments
- Must be knowledgeable in the operation, monitoring and testing processes of the metal detector as a critical control point
- Communicate with cross-functional departments to coordinate shipments
- Maintain sanitation in the load-out and track areas in accordance with HACCP standards
- Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting on loadout equipment
- Accurately document shipments, inspections, and reports
- Maintain clean work areas and perform daily sanitation tasks
- Follow all safety and food safety procedures to prevent contamination and ensure compliance
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
- Must meet the medical fitness requirements for the position as provided by the Railway Association of Canada
- Can operate and/or acquire any certifications, license, etc. in the safe operation of railcars and equipment
- Knowledge of plant processing /grain handling operations including bulk loadout systems with 2 years' experience is recommended.
- Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills
- Computer skills in Microsoft windows, Word and Excel are preferred
- Ability to multi-task with attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working at heights, confined spaces, and with grain allergens (e.g., dust)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills both verbally and in written communication
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing stairs/ladders
- Must be comfortable working in an outside environment with exposure to weather extremes
Hours of work
This position will be working 12-hr Modified shift schedule, including Weekend and night shifts.
