The Quality Assurance Automation Tester will be part of a team responsible for testing a variety of internal and third-party applications that support the business, such as billing, point-of-sale systems, and mobile applications. This role will actively participate in the requirements analysis process to ensure validation and verification, while focusing on designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts. The tester will also maintain test automation frameworks, create meaningful defect/incident reports, and work closely with vendors, business analysts, and project teams to drive efficiency and quality. The position emphasizes implementing automation-driven QA processes to reduce manual effort, increase test coverage, and accelerate delivery.
The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented problem solver with strong technical skills, hands-on experience in automation frameworks, and the ability to balance both automated and exploratory/manual testing when needed. They are proactive, highly organized, and effective communicators who thrive in a fast-paced Agile environment.
What Will Your Job Look Like?
- Collaborate with software development teams to understand requirements and translate them into automated test scenarios.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using tools like Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, and BDD frameworks or similar technology.
- Build and enhance test automation frameworks to support regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Execute automated test suites and analyze results to ensure functionality, usability, and performance meet business and technical requirements.
- Perform API testing using Postman or similar tools and integrate API tests into automation frameworks.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated tests for faster feedback and continuous delivery.
- Conduct exploratory/manual testing as needed to supplement automation and validate user journeys.
- Track, analyze, and log defects in bug-tracking tools, and work with development teams for resolution.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Stay current with emerging test automation tools, frameworks, and best practices.
What You Need?
- Education: Degree or diploma in computer science, software engineering, or related field.
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience with min 2 years of experience as automation QA.
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automation scripts for web, mobile, and API testing.
- Solid understanding of manual/exploratory testing to complement automation.
- Automation Tools: Proficiency with Java, Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, BDD frameworks, or similar tools.
- Programming: Working knowledge of Java or a similar programming language.
- CI/CD: Familiarity with tools like Jenkins, Git for continuous integration and test execution.
- API Testing: Experience using Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent.
- Test Design & Execution: Strong ability to plan, design, and execute automated test cases and test suites.
- Bug Tracking: Proficient with Jira, Bugzilla, or similar tools.
- Agile Methodology: Strong understanding of Agile-Scrum practices.
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
Additional Skills (Nice to Have):
- Telecom industry knowledge.
- Experience with performance testing.
- Exposure to cloud-based testing solutions.
