Your Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists for an intermediate Bridge Engineer within our bridge group, contributing to our dynamic transportation business centre in British Columbia. Stantec’s transportation business centre has a strong local presence and participates in some of Stantec’s largest and most iconic transportation projects – locally, nationally, and globally. The successful candidate will be someone with bridge design, project management and client management background also demonstrating exceptional communication, and passion for empowering teams. As an Intermediate Bridge Engineer you will perform a variety of tasks which may include design & design management, project management, client account management, resource planning, proposal writing, and quality management.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Planning and design of bridges and other structures related to various highway, transit, and rail projects.
- Supervising the work of structural analysts and designers for a variety of transportation structures.
- Project management for bridge projects and multi-disciplinary projects involving bridges.
- Leading design of select bridge projects, including Engineer of Record responsibilities.
- Preparing contract documents, cost estimates, reports, and proposals.
- Preparing and presenting information to clients, the public, and other stakeholders.
- Guiding and mentoring junior and intermediate designers as well as technical support personnel.
- Regular collaboration with colleagues in our multi-disciplined design offices.
- Client account management, business development, and marketing activities.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Working knowledge of relevant bridge design guides, particularly CHBDC.
- Familiarity with BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure standards and policies.
- Experience in a bridge design lead role.
- Experience in design and construction of complex bridges.
- Experience in preparing proposals and reports.
- Ability to lead individuals and teams on project assignments.
- Proven experience in bridge inspections, condition surveys, rehabilitation, repair, and asset management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Education and Experience
- Graduate degree in Civil Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of professional experience.
- Position will work in person and remotely to serve the BC region with a preference to have at the minimum 3 days per week in office work with some field work as required.

Pay Range:
• Locations in Lower Mainland - BC - Min Salary $ 91,800.00 - Max Salary $ 133,100.00
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
