Overview of role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Advisor, Talent Programs. Reporting to the Strategic Talent Management Lead, this role will leverage their ability to innovate in the HR space by developing talent programs that reflect the needs of WestJetters. This role will advance the organization’s talent strategy by supporting the design, coordination, and execution of enterprise talent initiatives. This role ensures that talent programs are well-governed, effectively implemented, and aligned with the broader organizational People Strategy.
Working closely with the broader People & Culture team, the Senior Advisor supports the development of modern talent practices that strengthen leadership pipelines, enable career growth, and embed inclusive talent strategies across the employee lifecycle. This role works collaboratively with individuals responsible for leadership development, performance management, and succession planning to ensure a cohesive and effective talent management ecosystem.
Talent Framework
Provide stewardship of the organization’s core talent management framework, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment across talent processes.

Evolve and maintain the enterprise talent framework including the skills, capabilities, behaviours, and mindsets required for success.

Develop career and development pathways that support internal mobility across multiple talent segments.

Ensure integration of the talent framework across performance management, succession planning, leadership development, and career growth initiatives.

Develop clear tools, guidelines, and resources that support leaders and HR partners in applying talent practices consistently.

Ensure talent programs and frameworks remain aligned with business priorities and the organization’s People Strategy.

Identify opportunities to modernize talent practices and improve leader and employee experience.
Talent Development
Enable individual contributors to grow through accessible and differentiated development opportunities.

Design and support talent development approaches that provide multiple pathways for growth, including Mentorship programs, high potential development opportunities, upskilling and reskilling opportunities, and on the job experiences.

Partner with learning, leadership development, and HR teams to ensure development opportunities align with future capability needs.

Promote a culture of continuous development by providing leaders with tools and guidance to support employee growth.
Inclusive Talent Strategies
Ensure inclusive practices are embedded across talent processes to support equitable access to opportunity and advancement.

Provide oversight and coordination of Talent and IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility) initiatives.

Partner with leaders, HR teams, and employee community groups to ensure inclusive practices are embedded within talent programs and decision-making processes.

Identify and address systemic barriers that may impact equitable access to development, advancement, and leadership opportunities.

Support the integration of inclusive practices into talent frameworks, ensuring IDEA principles are operationalized rather than treated as standalone initiatives.

Collaborate with organizational partners to embed inclusive practices into who we are, how we behave, and how we recognize our people.

Qualification and Experience
Talent Management (8-10 years)

Progressive experience in Talent Management, Organizational Development, or Talent Strategy.

Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, or supporting enterprise talent frameworks, development programs, or career growth initiatives.

Experience working with talent processes such as talent reviews, succession planning, leadership development, or career pathways.
HR Experience (7+ years)

Strong understanding of the broader People & Culture ecosystem, including how talent management connects with areas such as business partnering, recruitment, workforce planning, learning, employee experience, and total rewards.

Experience collaborating with HR Business Partners and business leaders to implement talent programs and practices.

Ability to translate organizational strategy into practical talent initiatives and tools.
