About the role
A solo punk rock/pop artist is seeking an experienced music producer to mix a 13-song album. All tracks have been recorded, featuring real drums, electric and acoustic guitars, bass, cello, vocals, percussion, keyboards, and additional instrumentation. Some minor re-recording may be required for select parts on two or three songs, and bass lines on certain tracks could benefit from enhancement. The primary objective is to elevate the album’s sound, ensuring it is commercially viable, cohesive, and polished, while preserving its energetic punk and pop essence. The drums require improvement, potentially through subtle layering, and the overall production should achieve a finished, impactful sound rather than a demo feel. The process will begin with a test or partial mix of one song to determine compatibility.
Deliverables
Mix and produce all 13 tracks to a professional, release-ready standard
Assess and advise on parts that may require re-recording or improvement Enhance drum tracks with additional layers as needed for a fuller sound Refine bass lines on select songs for improved cohesion and impact Maintain the album’s punk/pop character while achieving a polished, commercial finish Provide a test mix or partial mix of one song as an initial step Collaborate remotely and communicate progress throughout the project
Requirements
Proven experience producing and mixing punk rock, pop, or related genres
Strong portfolio demonstrating commercially released projects Proficiency with industry-standard DAWs and mixing/mastering tools Ability to enhance live drum and bass recordings while retaining authenticity Excellent communication skills and responsiveness to feedback Availability to begin with a test mix and commit to the full album upon approval Ability to work remotely and deliver high-quality files in required formats
