The Senior Software Engineer 1 will contribute to building and improving the cloud-based platforms, automation systems, and engineering tools that enable reliable software delivery at scale. This role combines software engineering expertise with platform engineering, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure responsibilities to enhance developer productivity and operational excellence. You will lead medium-complexity initiatives from design through production while collaborating with engineering, security, product, and quality teams. The position offers the opportunity to influence technical direction, improve engineering practices, and solve complex infrastructure challenges. Accountabilities

Own the end-to-end delivery of medium-complexity platform engineering, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure initiatives from design through production support. Design, implement, and improve developer platforms, CI/CD workflows, release automation, and engineering processes to increase reliability and productivity. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Artifactory, and related technologies. Improve Kubernetes environments, deployment practices, operational readiness, and platform reliability with a focus on cloud-native solutions. Design, provision, and maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code practices, including Terraform and automation frameworks such as Ansible or Packer. Develop automation solutions using Python, Groovy, and Bash to eliminate manual processes and improve operational efficiency. Troubleshoot complex issues across build systems, deployments, Linux environments, cloud services, Kubernetes workloads, and application runtime behavior. Enhance platform observability through logging, monitoring, metrics, dashboards, and alerting solutions that improve service reliability. Implement secure engineering practices including secrets management, certificate lifecycle management, DevSecOps integrations, compliance tooling, and access controls. Collaborate with software engineers, architects, QA teams, product managers, security teams, and release stakeholders to deliver scalable technical solutions. Communicate technical designs, implementation approaches, risks, dependencies, and operational considerations to both technical and non-technical audiences. Participate in operational support activities, including on-call rotations, incident analysis, and root-cause investigations to prevent recurring issues. Mentor junior engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing. Leverage approved AI-assisted engineering tools to improve development workflows, documentation, troubleshooting, and engineering productivity while maintaining strong security and quality standards.

Requirements

5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Release Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Proven ability to independently lead engineering initiatives from architecture and implementation through production readiness and ongoing support. Strong experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Artifactory, or similar platforms. Advanced knowledge of AWS cloud services, including IAM, EC2, EKS, VPC, S3, Route 53, CloudWatch, Auto Scaling, Load Balancers, and other cloud-native technologies. Strong hands-on experience supporting Kubernetes production environments, with Amazon EKS experience preferred. Solid experience with Docker, containerized applications, and troubleshooting container-based deployments. Advanced Linux administration skills, including system troubleshooting, networking, permissions, process management, and performance analysis. Strong programming and automation experience with Python and Groovy, along with working knowledge of Bash scripting. Strong experience designing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform; experience with Ansible, Packer, Chef, or similar tools is an asset. Experience supporting Java/Spring Boot applications in production environments and collaborating with software development teams is preferred. Knowledge of release management practices, including branching strategies, artifact promotion, progressive deployments, rollback planning, and version management. Experience administering developer workflows, GitHub repositories, artifact repositories, and engineering automation platforms. Familiarity with build tools such as Gradle, Maven, NPM, or equivalent technologies. Understanding of secure engineering practices, including secrets management, SSL/TLS certificates, PKI concepts, least-privilege access, and DevSecOps tooling. Experience with security scanning platforms or integrations such as Black Duck, Prisma Cloud, Veracode, or similar solutions is preferred. Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools to improve productivity, automate repetitive tasks, accelerate troubleshooting, and enhance documentation while applying sound technical judgment. Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts and architectural decisions clearly. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a continuous improvement mindset focused on automation, reliability, and developer experience.

Benefits
