Compensation Details:

  • Citizen Developer 17: Salaries typically range from $ 83,037 to $ 110,717 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.
  • Citizen Developer 18: Salaries typically range from $ 94,664 to $ 126,219 annually, based on qualifications and experiences, plus a performance-based incentive.

Location:

  • Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, currently requiring employees to work in the office 2 days per week. (subject to change)

  • This role can be performed from EDC’s headquarters in Ottawa or from one of our Community Hubs located in Toronto, Mississauga, Montreal, Brossard, Laval, or Halifax.

Team Overview:

The Process Performance Improvement (PPI) team operates under the Business Enablement group of the SVP-Centralized Business Services. PPI enables EDC teams to be more efficient and deliver greater value to Canadian exporters through a joint Center of Expertise (COE) for Business Process Management and Automation. This function combines the ability of documenting (through flowcharts) corporate processes and optimizing these for greater efficiencies and improved risk management, while proactively identifying automation opportunities, assessing anticipated value and readiness, with the capability to implement in a timely manner customer-centric, technology-independent automation solutions that are easily adopted and can scale across the organization.

As a Senior (L18 only) Process Automation Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in driving enterprise-wide automation initiatives by providing governance, asset management, and end-to-end support for automation solutions. Partnering closely with the technology team responsible for the automation platform and reusable enterprise libraries, you will work directly with business leaders, process owners, and subject matter experts to assess automation opportunities, design and develop automation solutions, and ensure their successful deployment and ongoing performance. In addition to your core responsibilities, you will also support citizen developers embedded in business units where automation demand is high and proximity to operations is essential for sustained success.

What you will be doing:

  • Drive (L18) / Deliver (L17) process-based automation initiatives throughout the organization.
  • Work with business stakeholders to review their manual processes and determine best fit for automation or suggest other solutions. Provide sizing for development and feasibility analysis.
  • Design, build, document, and test robotic processes. Responsible for all aspects of the life cycle from development through to deprecation of the automation solution.
  • Estimate efficiencies anticipated through the automation solution; analyze and measure the effectiveness of existing automation solutions.
  • Solve (complex L18) problems; take a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Facilitate effective communication between business and IT, ensuring investment decisions and business outcomes are optimized.
  • Trail-blaze solutions where the synergies of your ideas and those of other automation analysts will allow us to automate use cases that solve a business team’s problems but could also be applied elsewhere in the organization.( L18)
  • Monitor error logs of robotic processes and resolve issues when they occur.
  • Provide appropriate user training for use of automation solutions and ongoing support.
  • Effectively coordinates client engagement and manages expectations and communications.
  • Apply and (promote L18) corporate standards, best practices, and program governance.
  • Support citizen developers and provide development assistance(L17).
  • Coaches citizen developers and provide solution design guidance(L18)
  • Communicates technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders using business adapted language.

What we are looking for:

  • Completed an Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering or in a related field
  • Minimum 3 years (L17) / 5 years (L18) of experience in automating processes, not necessarily with RPA software
  • Tangible experience with UiPath RPA software
  • At least 1 year of programming experience in almost any programming language (L18)
  • Familiarization with APIs and data integrations
  • Strong problem solving & innovation

What will make you stand out:

  • Experience with other RPA software and related platforms (i.e., ServiceNow, MS Power Platform)

  • Experience with more than one programming language (L18)

  • experience with test-driven development (L18)

  • Advance knowledge of project management and change management principles

  • Knowledge of finance or insurance industry

  • Bilingual in both official languages (English and French)
