- Full-Time
- Monday to Friday 0800 to 1600, with a 1 hour, unpaid lunch.
- Weekdays and on call for some weekends
- Mostly days and possibly paid, unscheduled call-ins may be required from the Director of Operations
RATE OF PAY: $47,000 to $52,000 – salary based on experience and qualifications of hired individual in a not-for-profit environment.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Brockville District Supervisor (BDS) is a demanding and rewarding leadership role requiring strong management, administrative, communication, and time management skills. Drawing on operational experience and knowledge of Kingston Region policies, the BDS applies sound judgement and team-building skills to oversee a dynamic security environment and ensure high-quality service delivery that meets client expectations and Commissionaires’ standards of professional excellence.
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the BDS is responsible for the supervision and administration of all Brockville District sites, ensuring compliance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act, labour laws, and internal operational, HR, and payroll policies. As the primary supervisory and administrative lead within the district, the BDS works closely with Site Supervisors to provide direction, support, and oversight, ensuring consistent professional conduct, operational effectiveness, and safe, well-managed sites across the district.
This position is not conducive to working from home or away from the office for long periods of time.

REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE:
Level I – Reliability (requires 5 years minimum Canadian residency)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must negotiate short term contracts with clients and Director of Business Development.
- Must organize and participate in career events along with Human Resources
- Must work with Human Resources in the interview process to select commissionaires and fill staffing requirements for all contracts in the district. Interview potential new hires and internal applicants for positions as needed.
- Must ensure contractual requirements for staffing are met and communicate any shortfall in staffing to the Director of Operations and engage with the client as required.
- Must field calls from commissionaires (Unassigned spares, Site Supervisors, clients, and regional office staff).
- Must conduct site visits, delivering equipment, picking up guard and incident reports, site kits, uniforms and distributing Service Awards. Complete ISO compliance checks (Uniform standards etc.) and address any concerns from guards. Must provide leadership and support to supervisors and make arrangements for lone worker call -ins.
- Must generate probationary and annual assessments for all guards who have completed necessary probation hours and ensure site supervisors generate probation and annual assessments as required. Ensure annuals and passed and failed probation assessments are forwarded to Human Resources. Must generate positive performance reports
- Must prepare, revise, and submit a current list of guards for after-hours call out and contact for work to the SOC as required. Must ensure scheduling software is up to date with employee information.
- Must coordinate and assist in the preparation of Client SOPS and ensure site kits are created for pick up.
- Must perform CPIC and CRJMC checks for newly enrolled guards, or guards needing to renew security guard licenses and assist guards with their security guard license renewals online to expedite the renewal process.
- Required to be knowledgeable with company scheduling software and must perform all scheduling duties, including preparing schedules and timesheets on this system. Must ensure all available shifts are covered as needed.
- Responsible for regularly reviewing Sling to confirm site schedules are up to date, ensuring there is no unauthorized overtime, and reviewing all Site Supervisors’ timesheets prior to submission to payroll.
- Required to train all new and current employees on the use of company scheduling software.
- Must complete all day-to-day administration functions for the district, including generating and submitting WSCF’s, LOAs and other personnel admin is completed promptly
- Must ensure first aid certificates and receipts for all guards in district are submitted for reimbursement as well as ensure security guard licenses are up to date.
- Must sign Security Clearances for guards as the appointed ‘ACSO’ and complete Notary duties as the appointed ‘Commissioner of Oaths’ and complete affidavits for commissioning documents
- Must schedule appointments for fingerprinting and Conduct fingerprints
- Must complete any reports required and forward any/all completed documents and information to respected department for processing.
- Must coordinate WSIB leaves with commissionaire and/or Site Supervisors and help in completion of WSIB reporting forms. Informing the Human Resources Coordinator of any WSIB claims
- Must record any/all shift refusals and compliance issues.
- Must maintain all local copies of guard and client, records in secure filing systems.
- Must maintain district vehicle and forward any repairs and receipts to the SOCM
- Must conduct progressive discipline of guards such as verbal, written and performance improvement plans in coordination with the Director of Operations and Human Resources
- Must attend all scheduled virtual or in person meetings
- Must create and implement operational plans for contracted major events
- Must investigate all public and client complaints received regarding district employees
- Must share on call responsibility with the district staff for after hours business calls
- Must participate in any and all internal and continuing education deemed necessary by the Director of Operations and/or delegate
- Must perform other duties as assigned by Director of Operations and / or delegate.
REQUIREMENTS
To be eligible for consideration for this position, you must have the following qualifications:
- G license
- Clean Driver’s Abstract
- Able to obtain and maintain reliability clearance
- Able to obtain and maintain a valid Ontario Security license
- Would be considered an asset: post-secondary diploma/degree in business administration or equivalent experiences
