About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our innovative team at Trane Technologies. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, designing, and implementing advanced micro-services and tools that enhance our Large Language Model (ARIA) platform. Your expertise will contribute to the evolution of our AI-driven solutions, supporting the company's commitment to sustainability and technological advancement. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex software systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to projects that have a tangible impact on climate solutions globally. You will be involved in all stages of software development, from initial planning and feasibility studies to deployment and maintenance, ensuring our systems remain at the forefront of innovation and efficiency.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's or master's degree in software engineering, computer science, or a related field, complemented by at least five years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Python is essential, along with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles. Experience with unit testing frameworks such as pytest, and familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK, are highly desirable. Candidates should have extensive knowledge of debugging micro-services within AWS environments, including CloudWatch and IAM roles. A strong understanding of Large Language Model architecture, Linux systems, and automation is required. Additionally, experience with AWS managed services such as Lambda, API Gateway, and Queues, as well as version control systems like Git, is necessary. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams are critical for success. Knowledge of FastAPI and machine learning research will be considered advantageous.
Responsibilities
Develop, design, and implement micro-services and tools to enhance our Large Language Model (ARIA) platform, ensuring scalability and robustness. Engage with development managers to discuss project requirements, timelines, and deliverables, maintaining clear communication channels. Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for system upgrades and new software initiatives. Update and optimize existing software systems, proposing enhancements to improve functionality, performance, and user experience. Design new software applications, websites, and tools aligned with business needs and technological advancements. Write advanced programming code, adhering to best practices and coding standards to ensure high-quality deliverables. Perform code reviews to uphold coding standards, promote best practices, and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team. Manage project timelines, prioritize tasks, and coordinate with team members to ensure timely delivery of software solutions. Create comprehensive technical documentation for new and existing software systems to facilitate maintenance and knowledge transfer. Participate actively in daily SCRUM meetings, providing updates and collaborating with team members to resolve issues. Work closely with the AI Research team to incorporate the latest research findings and methodologies into our software solutions. Document development processes, share insights, and maintain organized repositories of technical documentation. Assist in supervising the deployment of software components, ensuring smooth integration and operation. Develop, upgrade, and maintain existing micro-services and software codebases, responding promptly to troubleshooting and maintenance tickets.
