The opportunity

Our client is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Supervisor to join their Finance team at their Calgary location. This is a full-time, permanent role where you will lead a team, own the AP function end to end, and help ensure the financial engine behind a mission-critical organisation runs smoothly and accurately. You will be a trusted voice in the finance department, helping to build processes, support your team, and keep everything operating to a high standard.

What the role involves Leading the day-to-day accounts payable function across a high-volume, multi-site environment Managing vendor relationships and overseeing payment processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness Supporting month-end close activities including general ledger reconciliations and financial reporting Overseeing tax compliance and ensuring internal controls and documentation are maintained to a strong standard Identifying process gaps and driving continuous improvement across the team Coaching and developing AP team members and fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture

What you bring Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration at a diploma or degree level Between five and eight years of progressive AP or broader accounting experience, ideally in complex, multi-location environments Two to three years of direct supervisory experience within an accounts payable function Solid knowledge of full-cycle AP and vendor management practices Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Sage, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms Intermediate to advanced Excel skills Strong leadership qualities with a genuine interest in developing the people around you Excellent communication and organisational skills with a sharp eye for detail A proactive mindset when it comes to identifying issues and seeing them through to resolution

Nice to have Experience working within a non-profit or mission-driven organisation Familiarity with multi-entity or multi-province financial environments Exposure to process improvement or systems implementation projects
