Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM / 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM

We’re looking for a Healthcare Security Guard Ambassador to join the team at Kingston General Hospital (KGH) — a role focused on ensuring the safety, comfort, and support of patients, staff, and visitors in a high-demand hospital setting.

Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible, professional, and alert security presence at all times.
- Greet, assist, and direct visitors, patients, and staff while providing exceptional customer service.
- Patrol hospital facilities (interior and exterior), responding to incidents, alarms, or emergencies as they arise.
- Complete incident reports and maintain accurate security documentation.
- Enforce hospital policies and procedures, including parking and smoking by-laws.
- Support hospital operations through patient watches, access control, and key management.
- Conduct monthly safety inspections and participate in security briefings as needed.
- De-escalate conflicts and respond calmly and professionally in high-stress situations.
- Work collaboratively with hospital personnel and law enforcement when required.
Requirements
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C (from a WSIB-approved provider)
- Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
- Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses)
- Immunization records for: Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella, Pertussis, and TB Skin Tests (Step 1 & 2)
- English proficiency (oral and written)
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding)
- Commitment to a minimum 6-month full-time availability
Applicants who are not immunized or cannot provide MMR-V documentation at the time of hire will not be eligible for this position.
Nice to Have
- Minimum 6 months of healthcare security experience
- Minimum 6 months of non-healthcare security experience
- 6+ months of customer service experience
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
- Ability to provide Stay Safe certification (or willingness to complete Paladin’s paid certification program before onboarding)
Note: The Stay Safe certification is a pre-requisite. Paladin covers all certification costs with a 6-month employment commitment.
