CROWN Metal Packaging Canada LP, Beverage Packaging Division has an opening for a Day Support - Decorator Mechanic at their manufacturing facility located in the Foothills Industrial Park in South East Calgary. This facility manufactures aluminum cans for the beverage industry. This position will perform a variety of mechanical adjustments, maintenance, repairs, installation, and modification of manufacturing equipment for the production and manufacture of aluminum cans of the highest quality. Other responsibilities would include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Safety & Quality minded with willingness for excellence required in all aspects of the job
  • Must keep production lines flowing, make repairs and adjustments to equipment
  • Understand and follow verbal instructions for completion of assigned tasks
  • Keeps Production Supervisors/Managers informed of operational status of equipment and production issues
  • Follows standard operating procedures
  • Performs other related duties as required

Job Requirements

Must have previous experience and knowledge of production equipment and mechanical operations in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong mechanical skills
  • Proficiency in English for effective communication
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience, prior experience in industrial maintenance is preferred
  • Install, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and equipment
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking work orders
  • Knowledge and work history of focusing on quality and safety in every aspect of the job
  • Able to effectively manage multiple projects/tasks at the same time
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Effective and proven communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Motivated and committed to learning
  • Must have the ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds on occasion and regularly stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and independently
  • Must have attention to detail and be results driven
  • Work towards minimizing downtime while improving quality
  • Keeps work area safe, clean, and organized
  • Journeyman Millwright certificate a definite asset

This position works a four on, four off rotation, 6:30am to 6:30pm and some overtime as needed.
