Position And/or Project Description This role is for a Senior Splunk Developer.
Role Summary Role is responsible for support and enhancement of our client's Splunk environment. Splunk is comprised of multiple on premise installations focused primary on enabling cyber security and enterprise analytic capabilities. This role will be responsible to ensure the environments are running optimally, respond to incidents, implement enhancements and consult on project deliverables.
Other Responsibilities
- Designs, automates and manages data visualization leveraging Splunk
- Analyzes information requirements of customers and support teams and determines the best technical solutions
- Collaborates with business and technical partners to understand and evaluate their needs for data from Splunk
- Works closely with the Solution Architect to define/evolve the data storage architecture and data transformation architecture sections of the solution architecture
- Mentors other staff in the delivery of services and problem resolution
Mandatory Education/Certifications:
- Post secondary education in support of computer technology
Desired Education/Certifications:
- Splunk Enterprise Certified Architect
- Other related Splunk certificates an asset
Mandatory Experience:
- 6+ years' experience working with Splunk, Splunk ES & Splunk ITSI.
Desired Experience:
- 4+ years' experience working with Splunk ES (Enterprise Security module)
- 2+ years' experience with building dashboard, analytics and mobile Splunk reports.
- 2+ years' experience integrating Splunk data into other Analytics platforms such as Azure & Power BI.
Deliverables:
- Splunk Solution Delivery
- Contribute through participation in agile development of project timelines, implementation design specifications, system flow diagrams, documentation, testing, and ongoing support of systems
Analysis
- Identify gaps between project requirement and data available.
- Assess security requirement
- Collect business meta data information
- Identify required tasks and provide estimates of effort
Detailed Requirements Definition
- Prepare design requirement specification documents.
- Identify feasibility and impacts on current environment.
- Ensure that best practices are followed
Operational Support & Testing
- Development test cases for reports and dashboards
Build
- Build reports and dashboards by following best practices.
- Create & document technical meta data definition for each object in our data sets
- Execute unit test plan and provide results report
- Manages the report generation processes, and investigates/resolves failures
Other: Remote hours must align with client's business hours

8:00am - 5:00pm local time (Regina, SK)
