ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to provide expert assessment, treatment, and ongoing management for clients with wounds. This role involves delivering individualized wound care plans that may include patient education and counseling, pressure relief strategies, compression therapy, skin conditioning, and follow-up care. The ideal candidate will employ evidence-based practices to promote healing, prevent complications, and support client comfort and recovery.

WHAT YOU BRING

Education/Experience:

  • Certificate of Registration with the Ontario College of Nurses (CNO)

  • Wound Ostomy Continence Certified (Canada) or a graduate of an advanced level education/training program in the Clinical Science of Wound Healing (i.e. recognized Masters level programs)

  • Extensive experience in assessing incontinence and providing strategies and education to clients and/or caregivers

Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the assessment and management of clients with wounds ostomies and urinary incontinence

  • Recent experience in the administration of medications

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, including clear and compassionate verbal, written, and interpersonal abilities essential for professional collaboration

  • Evidence of continuing professional development experience

  • Basic understanding of the field of telemedicine or a willingness to learn

  • Superior organizational skills and ability to set priorities

  • Demonstrated regular attendance at work

Asset:

  • Two (2) years of experience in the area of wound ostomy and continence care would be an asset

Conditions of Employment:

  • This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.

  • Offers of employment made to external candidates are conditional upon providing proof of a complete primary series of Health Canada approved mRNA COVID-19 vaccine or proof of valid medical exemption, prior to the offered effective date. If proof of vaccination or valid medical exemption is not provided, the offer of employment is rescinded.
