Junior Graphic & Front End Designer
About the role
About us
We build the technology behind live events, and we work with some of the biggest events in the space. Our software and our design shape how attendees experience an event, from the first click on a registration site to checking in on-site, all in service of a branded, delightful attendee experience. We are based in Ontario and work with event organizers around the world.
The opportunity
We are looking for a junior designer to work across the full range of what our products and clients need, from the screens an attendee sees online to the printed pieces they hold in their hands. You will design across our brands, Streampoint, Resiada, and Typhon, plus the work that supports them, so part of the craft is keeping each brand consistent and distinct rather than blending them. It is real, deadline-driven work with real people on the other end, and you will watch your designs go live at actual events rather than sit in a portfolio.
The goal behind all of it is simple: elevate each customer's brand and make a strong first impression on their attendees. Registration and check-in are often an attendee's first touchpoint with an event, and that first impression is ours to get right.
We want someone who thinks like a modern designer. That means strong fundamentals and a current, considered eye, but it also means thinking in systems rather than one-offs and using the tools available today to do better work faster. AI is part of how we operate, from generating and refining assets to writing and debugging the code that automates production. We want someone who already works this way, or is genuinely excited to.
Most of all, we want someone curious. The kind of person who pokes at a new tool to see what it can do, tries three versions of something to find the best one, and is not afraid to experiment. We will give you real problems and the room to explore them.
We are setting a high bar. We want the qualities you would find in a great designer at a company known for craft: real taste, obsessive attention to detail, the judgment to make complex things feel simple, strong brand instinct, and the standards to make even small things excellent. You will start junior, but the ceiling is real. As you grow, there is room to take genuine ownership of how our brands look, feel, and show up in the world.
What you will work on
These are some of the things you will touch, though the role is not limited to them: Registration and event websites: design sites that match each customer's brand, and in some cases help build that brand from the ground up for clients who do not already have one. Social and brand creative: content and campaigns that carry each brand's voice across the channels where our audience actually spends time. Event badges: print-ready designs that look sharp and handle variable data like names, titles, QR codes, and category color-coding. Check-in and kiosk screens: simple, clear interfaces that move people through a busy room without friction. Mobile event apps: designing and setting up the attendee app for each client's event, the agenda, maps, profiles, and notifications people use on their phones throughout the event. Print production: preparing files correctly with bleeds, color profiles, sizes, and stock, and designing within the realities of how things actually print. Light front-end and scripting: some HTML and CSS, plus a bit of scripting to automate the repetitive work, for example generating designs from data instead of building them one at a time. AI-assisted work: using current tools to generate and edit assets and to draft and refine scripts you then make production-ready.
Tools
This is our current toolkit, not a fixed checklist. We care more that you are fluent with strong tools and quick to pick up new ones, since the set will keep changing. Core, and where you should be comfortable now: Photoshop, Illustrator, and Figma. For print and layout: Illustrator and Acrobat, or the drive to pick them up quickly. For the web side: comfort reading and writing basic HTML and CSS, with a bit of JavaScript. AI: hands-on with current generative and assistant tools, for example image and asset generation, and an AI coding assistant to help with scripts. Bonus: video editing and motion basics (After Effects, Premiere), and any no-code or low-code web building like Webflow.
What we are looking for
A solid grounding in design principles: typography, color, hierarchy, layout, and composition. You know the rules well enough to break them on purpose. Real craft. You sweat the small details other people skip, because that care is what makes work feel considered and earns trust. A gift for simplicity. You can take something complicated and make it feel clear and effortless, and you know that usually means cutting, not adding. Judgment, not just polish. You can explain why you made a choice and weigh the tradeoffs, and you care more about whether the work is right than whether it looks flashy. A modern sensibility and systems thinking. You build things that scale and stay consistent across many pieces, many events, and more than one brand, not just one nice-looking sample. Brand instinct and an ownership mentality. You can hold each brand's voice without blending them, and in some cases help build a client's brand from scratch. You make choices that feel right rather than only technically correct, you treat the work as yours, and you bring a storyteller's eye to social and content. A maker's curiosity. You explore by building, trying a few versions and prototyping quickly rather than overthinking on paper. You like new tools and new approaches, and you are comfortable when there is no established playbook to follow. Comfort with code and AI. We do not need a developer, but you are not afraid of HTML, CSS, and a little scripting, and you put current AI tools to good use to move faster and explore more. You hit deadlines. Event dates do not move. A portfolio that shows us how you think, not just what you have made.
Nice to have
Any exposure to print production, large-format, or signage. Any scripting or automation you have done, in any tool. Video editing or motion work. A genuine appetite to keep learning, expand your design knowledge, and sharpen your eye over time. Event, conference, or trade show experience.
Why this role
We want this to be a place where you learn fast, grow, and get to experiment. Concretely, that means: Real range, not repetition. You will work across digital, print, social, and a bit of code, for more than one brand, so you build a broad, modern skill set early. Freedom to try things. We would rather you experiment and learn from it than play it safe, including with current AI tools and new approaches. A direct line to the top. You report to our CXO and will have a real voice in the work, which is rare this early in a career. A real ceiling, and the support to reach it. As you prove yourself, the path runs toward owning how our brands look and feel, and you will not be left to figure it out alone.
The details
Type: Full-time, hybrid. Location: Remote for most of the week, with two days in our office at 15 Marmac Drive in Etobicoke, so you can sit with the team and see production happen in person. Pay: $60,000 to $70,000 per year, depending on experience.
How to apply
Send us your portfolio and a short note about your design background and why this kind of work interests you. If you have ever automated something tedious, designed something that had to print perfectly, or built a small thing end-to-end, tell us about it. We use AI tools to help screen and sort applications. A member of our team also reviews candidates personally.
