Design Focus. Technical Growth. Real Impact.

Salary Range: $75,000 – $105,000 (based on experience and registration)

About The Firm This Vancouver studio is known for creating architecture that is both striking and enduring. Their portfolio spans complex high-rise residential towers, mixed-use communities, and urban infill developments, with a reputation for clarity, quality, and thoughtful detailing. The practice combines the creative spirit of a boutique design studio with the systems and rigour of a larger firm. The culture is collaborative and mentorship-focused, where design thinking is valued at every level and everyone stays closely connected to the work.

Why Join This Team? This is a studio where strong designers can broaden their technical range without losing their creative edge. You will be trusted to contribute to design visioning while also building experience in coordination, documentation, and delivery. You will work directly with senior architects and technologists on complex concrete projects, seeing how ambitious design ideas translate into real buildings. If you want to grow into a well-rounded architect while staying immersed in design, this is the right place to do it.

About The Role Our client is seeking an Intermediate or Intern Architect to join the Vancouver studio, contributing to the design and delivery of large-scale mixed-use and concrete high-rise residential projects. This role is ideal for someone who is design-driven yet comfortable working through the technical details needed to bring projects to life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate on design development and technical documentation for large, complex concrete projects
  • Support the production of coordinated drawing sets in Revit through all phases of design and construction
  • Work closely with senior team members to develop design concepts into buildable, well-detailed solutions
  • Contribute to building envelope detailing, construction assemblies, and code compliance reviews
  • Participate in consultant meetings, client presentations, and site visits alongside senior architects
  • Assist with construction administration tasks such as reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, and supporting field reviews
  • Stay current on British Columbia Building Code (BCBC), Vancouver Building By-law (VBBL), and local permit processes

Qualifications

  • Master of Architecture or equivalent professional degree
  • 3 to 8 years of professional experience in Canada
  • Proven experience on high-rise and mixed-use concrete projects
  • Strong design acumen and a portfolio that demonstrates design sensitivity and attention to detail
  • Experience contributing to detailed drawing sets and design development packages
  • Proficiency in Revit, with an understanding of collaborative workflows and BIM standards
  • Familiarity with BCBC, VBBL, and local municipal approvals
  • Clear communicator, highly organized, and eager to keep learning
  • Registered or actively pursuing registration with Architectural Institute of British Columbia (AIBC)

What’s On Offer

  • Excellent compensation aligned with experience and responsibility
  • Comprehensive extended health and dental benefits
  • Parental leave top-up and professional development support
  • Flexible hybrid work model with an emphasis on in-office collaboration
  • Positive, collaborative team culture with regular social outings and studio events
  • Close mentorship from senior architects who value design thinking and technical rigour
  • Opportunities to contribute to significant projects while advancing toward registration

If you are ready to contribute to thoughtful, well-crafted projects while growing as a well-rounded architect in a supportive studio, we would love to hear from you.
