The mandate of the Cost Management Analyst is to act as a business partner to the merchandising and negotiation teams by providing expertise and guidance in cost management and analysis. Your primary objective will be to understand and mitigate the impact of cost changes and to deliver analyses that will guide strategic decisions and align negotiations with costs. The selected candidate will leverage their skills in developing decision-support tools, analysis, and problem-solving to interpret data, identify opportunities, and make recommendations.

The Role :

Data management: Develop and maintain reporting models and tools to support organizational changes Cost analysis: Conduct detailed cost and benefit analyses of product categories, identify cost-saving opportunities, and present recommendations to the merchandising team Risk management: Identify mitigation elements and propose negotiation arguments to reduce the impact of cost changes Use various commodity variation indicators to equip internal partners and proactively communicate opportunities for cost renegotiation Relationship management: Collaborate with merchandising and negotiation teams by supporting the alignment of cost, terms, and contract negotiations, ensuring the best value for the organization Cross-functional collaboration: Work with various departments such as Finance, Assortment Planning, and IT to contribute to initiatives and special projects aimed at improving processes and tracking results

The qualifications we're looking for :

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience Experience in retail and product merchandising Experience in cost and commodity analysis is an asset Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data Advanced proficiency in Excel and other data management and analysis tools Attention to detail: accuracy in data management and identifying cost-saving opportunities Ability to consolidate, analyze, and effectively communicate complex data Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment Good communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organization and across functions Strong organizational skills Ability to thrive in ambiguity
