About the role
Under limited direction, the Human Resources Specialist supports the business or functional unit assigned with supporting various disciplines of human resources in the fields of recruiting, communication, compensation, benefits, training and development, onboarding, and associate relations. May lead projects to support the standardization of programs, processes and systems.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify and clarify problems, evaluating potential solutions, implementing selected solutions and
Coaching or mentoring managers and associates.
Manage and resolve associate relations matters consistent with our values, culture and policies. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations.
Administer, interpret and explain routine and complex human resources policies, procedures, laws,
standards and regulations.
Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends. Analyze trends and metrics to
develop solutions, programs and policies.
Guides and provides input on staffing and workforce planning, associate morale and engagement
activities, succession planning and other key HR programs.
Identify organizational and individual training needs. Participate in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success.
Develop and/or lead projects to support the improvement of human resources programs, policies and procedures.
Foster company culture through coordinating activities, events and other programs.
Act as backup for all On-Boarding processes.
Process and ensure completion of all required administrative processes.
Process, monitor and manage Short Term Disability (STD) and Long Term Disability (LTD) claims.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Post secondary school education in Human Resources
Three (3) to five (5) years HR experience
Associate Relations experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment would be an asset
Health and Safety an definate asset.
Required Skills and Abilities
Managing multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong verbal communication
Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.)
