Job Purpose

Develops, implements, and maintains technical quality assurance and control systems and activities. Manages the activities of the quality team and is responsible for staffing decisions, training and development, and performance management of the staff. Working with Engineering, defines and specifies the implementation of equipment, standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, accuracy, and reliability of company products ensuring the realization of Customer quality requirements. Participates in the reviewing of engineering designs to contribute quality requirements and considerations. Assists product support areas in gathering and analyzing data. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Customer liaison on all quality related activities. Drives continuous improvement in both office and production quality processes.

Nature of Duties/Responsibilities

  • Defines and specifies the implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, accuracy, and reliability of company products.

  • Participates in the reviewing of engineering designs to contribute quality assurance requirements and considerations. Assists product support areas in gathering and analyzing data. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

  • Performs internal and Supplier Audit, lead external and customer audits.

  • Management Representative responsible for QMS and EMS.

  • Achieve various certifications for the organization as the need arises (ex. AS9100).

  • Manages and executes all required functions for the control and maintenance of Sanmina CGN and corporate iTar certifications.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in a related Engineering discipline.

  • Minimum 12 years experience in a Quality environment (minimum 10 years in an Operations environment) with outsourcing and contract manufacturing dealing with complex electro-mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies.

  • Proven record in problem solving and implementation of a quality system such as ISO 9001 and AS9100 and IPC standards.

  • Solid experience in managing Internal Audits, Customer Audits and Supplier Management, along with knowledge of working in inspection environment.

  • Strong familiarity with Design Transfer and Process Validation requirements.

  • Strong background in reflow, wave soldering, all SMT processes, and the related equipment, ThruHole technology and process development with the ability to serve as a lead for all quality related issues.

  • Ability to multi-task, strong time management skills, strong analytical skills, experience using statistical tools.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient use of technology including MS Office Software Package and Internet resources is expected.

  • Familiarity with Six Sigma/Lean/statistical tools is preferred as is a Black Belt certification.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to obtain and maintain the government of Canada's "Reliability" status and Nato Secret security clearance.

  • Able to obtain your Controlled Goods Certification, as well as International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) Clearance.
