Role and Facility Information
Fraser Health Authority is seeking a Dermatologist to join its team at Eagle Ridge Hospital (ERH) and Royal Columbian Hospital. The Dermatologist would be expected to provide Consultative services for inpatients; as well as, provide ongoing supervision, mentorship and teaching of medical students and residents. ERH‑RCH maintains strong collaboration with the other hospitals in the region and is affiliated with the University of British Columbia Medical School teaching program.
Facilities:
- Eagle Ridge Hospital – a 154‑bed hospital in Port Moody, BC, offering medical, surgical, regional rehabilitation, cardiac and diabetes outpatient programs, as well as 24/7 Emergency services with 51,237 visits annually.
- Royal Columbian Hospital – a provincial referral (tertiary/trauma) hospital in New Westminster, BC, with 422 acute beds, University of BC affiliated teaching hospital offering medical, surgical, advanced diagnostics & imaging, critical care, inpatient pediatrics, levels 1 & 3 obstetrics (typo in source), outpatient clinics, level 2 & 3 neonatology, cardiac surgery, neurosciences, and tertiary programs as well as 24/7 emergency services with 75,986 visits annually.
The Royal Columbian Hospital Redevelopment is a multi‑year, multi‑phase project to increase the hospital's capacity, beds and services. Phase one is underway and includes multiple projects, many which prepare the hospital’s infrastructure for future expansion as well as a new 75‑bed mental health and substance use wellness centre with more outpatient clinics by late 2019/early 2020. Phase two, if approved by government, proposes to add an acute care tower with more beds for intensive care, cardiac intensive care, obstetrics and medicine/surgical and a new larger emergency by late 2022. Phase three proposes to upgrade existing buildings to support areas in the Health Care Centre, such as the laboratory and pharmacy, by 2025.
