About the role
We’re looking for a proactive, relationship-driven Account Manager (AM) to join our commercial team at bids&tenders!
About Valsoft
Established in Canada in 2015, Valsoft has grown to a global portfolio of 118+ companies, acquiring and developing vertical market software companies, enabling each business to deliver the best mission-critical solutions for customers in their respective industries. A key tenet of Valsoft’s philosophy is to invest in well-established businesses and foster an entrepreneurial environment that molds companies into leaders in their respective industries. Valsoft looks to buy, hold and create value through long-term partnerships with existing management.
About bids&tenders
bids&tenders is an established digital procurement software platform within the Valsoft portfolio and a recognized leader in public-sector procurement across North America. Our platform is deeply embedded within government procurement environments, supporting agencies at every level of the public sector as they manage the full lifecycle of their procurement activities. Public buyers and suppliers rely on our platform daily for sourcing, submissions, evaluations, awards, contract management, and supplier performance.
Originally created over 15 years ago to address a critical gap - giving suppliers a clear and accessible way to view and respond to procurement opportunities - bids&tenders has steadily evolved in partnership with procurement professionals. We were early pioneers in eBidding, and over time we’ve expanded the platform to include modern evaluation tools, contract management workflows, supplier performance capabilities, and a streamlined experience for both buyers and suppliers.
The Account Manager role is central to protecting and expanding our recurring revenue base. You will manage a portfolio of assigned accounts, deepen relationships with procurement teams and supplier organizations, ensure customer satisfaction, and lead commercial conversations tied to renewals, usage expansion, and adoption of new modules and subscription offerings.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Account Ownership & Relationship Management
- Manage a defined portfolio of agency and supplier accounts with clear retention and expansion objectives.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with procurement leaders, operational stakeholders, and supplier organizations.
- Conduct structured account reviews to assess adoption, identify gaps, and recommend workflow or module improvements.
Revenue Expansion & Commercial Negotiation
- Lead renewal and expansion conversations, including additional licenses, modules, subscription plans, and service packages.
- Identify and close upsell opportunities linked to customer workflows, usage patterns, and product roadmap developments.
- Articulate value delivered, quantify ROI, and confidently manage pricing and contract discussions.
Customer Advocacy & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as the commercial voice of the customer, sharing insights with Product, R&D, Support, and Marketing.
- Partner with Implementation and Support teams to ensure a smooth customer journey from onboarding through renewal.
- Support the rollout of new features and communicate changes in ways that drive customer adoption and satisfaction.
Pipeline, Forecasting & Operational Discipline
- Maintain accurate forecasting of renewals, expansion opportunities, and account health.
- Track customer interactions, opportunities, and risk indicators in the CRM with a high degree of rigor.
- Build and execute account plans to strengthen relationships and grow portfolio revenue over time.

Qualifications
- Strong communicator capable of leading commercial conversations with both public-sector agencies and supplier organizations.

- Comfortable navigating public procurement environments, budgeting processes, and compliance-focused decision making.
- Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage a diverse book of business with competing priorities.
- Collaborative team player who thrives in a scaling environment with evolving processes, new products, and rapid growth initiatives.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary and commission structure with uncapped earning potential.
