Right now we’re looking for a Registered Nurse to work in Bariatrics Program .
Employment Status: Temporary Part Time
Duration: January 2026 - subject to change as per Article B – Management Functions
Hours of Work: Days, evenings and weekends - subject to change as per Article B – Management Functions
Location: Humber River Health, Wilson Site
Labour Group: ONA
Reporting Relationship: Manager, Bariatrics
Hourly Rate: $39.07 - $56.00
Position Responsibilities
- RNs complete assessments prior to surgery and provide patients with comprehensive education. Strong physical and psycho-social assessment skills are required.
- Provide follow up care and assessments to patients post-operatively
- Support medically managed patients by providing expertise, information and education as needed
- Work collaboratively with physicians to risk stratify patients and coordinate care.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario , BCLS certification.
- Minimum 2 years surgical experience required, experience caring for bariatric patients an asset.
- Completion of Certified Bariatric Educator designation an preferred
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to establish positive relationships with all staff, clients, families, physicians and community agencies
- Excellent verbal and written presentation skills
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills; able to work independently and in collaboration with interdisciplinary team
- Demonstrated skills using the computer; meditech, Microsoft word
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated ability to work with an inter-professional team including the patients and their families.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Knowledge of a second language an asset.
- Current knowledge and sensitivity to patients’ multicultural needs.
- Excellent attendance and a discipline free record is required.
