Geotechnical Laboratory/ Field Technician

This role will be based in Vaughan, ON.
Your role within the team:
- Report to and assist the Geotechnical Team Lead with day-to-day procedures.
- Work in our Vaughan Geotechnical Laboratory which will include duties such as sample preparation, performing laboratory tests in accordance with applicable standards, and data entry.
- Assist with sample management including shipping/receiving, maintaining inventory, sample disposal.
- Calibrate testing equipment, maintain the premises, and help ensure a safe working environment.
- When required, perform subgrade inspections and site surveys on active construction sites as well as help execute ground investigations by logging boreholes, obtaining samples and performing field testing.
- Collaborate with teams to further technological and digital advancement.
- Adhere to rules and procedures that ensure the health and safety of employees and the environment as well as the prevention of workplace incidents.
- Be proactive in improving HSE policies and procedures to mitigate hazards related to your work.

The ideal candidate:
- Civil Engineering Technology, Geological Engineering Technology or similar diploma or degree and 2+ years of related experience.
- Positive attitude and uncompromising commitment to health and safety.
- Ability to work and travel throughout Ontario.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift loads of up to 25 kg.
- Computer literacy.
- Valid Ontario class G driver’s license is a requirement.
