About the role
Responsibilities including but not limited to:
-
Become expertly acquainted with the specifics of Belwood Poultry’s HACCP plan
-
Perform on site microbiological testing and critical control point monitoring
-
Properly document all HACCP monitoring procedures and liaise with peers to maintain document control, tracking and ensure compliance
-
Provide Food Safety support to other members of QA and production during shift
-
Assist HACCP Coordinator in follow up on CFIA audits and requests to ensure action plans are effectively in place to prevent CAR’s
-
Assist HACCP Coordinator with management of the corrective action program to reduce the occurrence of repeat deficiencies/deviations
-
Assist in verifying that the plant is in compliance with the written program on an ongoing basis
-
Provide timely and effective feedback to the HACCP Coordinator, Production Supervisors and Management.
-
Maintain food safety knowledge, remaining informed of regulatory changes and new policies. Assist HACCP team in developing and implementing training programs for employees.
-
Control any non-compliant product that has been produced, perform a food safety assessment and determine appropriate disposition
-
Monitoring, implementation and enforcement of plant Food Safety Programs and customer quality checks.

Perform other minor office functions as requested by management (filing/spreadsheet completion, etc.)

Any other duties requested by Management.
Working Conditions:

Office and Production floor environment
-
Ability to work in varying temperatures and in damp wet conditions
-
Heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
-
Physical requirements: standing and walking for extended periods of time, bending and lifting.
Requirements:
-
Experience in Food Safety, Food Science or related field
-
Experience in Food quality programs an asset
-
GMP & HACCP training
-
Understanding of BRC program
-
Internal Auditor training an asset
Compensation:
- Wage & Performance review after a successful completion of a 90-day probationary period. Wage and performance will be reviewed annually.
- Health care, LTD, Life Insurance following a 90-day probationary period for yourself and eligible family members (co-paid)
