About PDU Radio
Product Development Unit Radio (PDU Radio) drives the end-to-end research and development of Ericsson’s radio products and solutions. We are a global organization, within Business Unit Networks (BNEW), of approximately3,000 engineers and developers collaborating across nine sites in Canada, China and Sweden to drive Ericsson’ strategy of securing our ongoing market leadership in radio, taking a leadership position in 5G.
Within BNEW we established an organizational unit inside Radio Products Canada (RPCA) called the Customer Issue and Investigations Group (CIIG) which focuses on enhancing the efficiency of handling MANA customer issues by working closely with the NA Customer units as well as the CX team and with our maintenance partners in China. This new structure has been in place for 4 years and has been highly effective. It is time now to select a new line manager for this small group of 6 people to ensure a seamless transition of leadership.
What you will do:
- People leadership to develop this highly specialized team towards their career objectives.
- Working closely with the MANA Customer Units to understand customer issues and assist the CX and Maintenance team in their timely resolution.
- Leading brainstorming sessions to debug complex field issues with rigor and follow through.
- Reproducing Field Issues in the CIIG labs with the assistance of the local R&D teams.
- Being able to prioritize customer issues to ensure the most efficient team operation within mandate.
- Creating Briefing materials for more senior managers which captures the essence of the problems.
- Using tools such as AI/ML to simplify and speed up repetitive tasks.
- Working with cross-functional team of engineers designing, developing, and testing new hardware and software for wireless communication systems.
What you will bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as HW Engineering or Software Engineering
- 8+ years of experience with Product Development or Project Manager background ideally within a Radio Development environment.
- Experience with SW, HW, or Systems experience in Radio especially Indoor Radio.
- Experience leading multi-disciplined design teams from support functions towards a common goal
- Experience integrating Radio Designs, ensuring functional and performance requirements are met and troubleshooting issues in support of the field.
- The ability to structure and coordinate issue investigations efficiently.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or commensurate working experience.
- Ability to work under pressure (time, escalation) and Sense of urgency
- A clear focus on both Integrity and empathy in dealing with others.

Your Pay
The salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.
Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit’s objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.
Sales Incentive Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for sales incentives as a part of Ericsson’s Sales Incentive Plan. Actual payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit’s objectives, individual performance, and the individual incentive target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Ericsson offers excellent health benefits including the choice of 2 medical and dental plan options that allow an employee to select the level of coverage that suits their needs. Employees will receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost of the Deluxe medical and dental plan coverages for themselves and eligible covered dependents.
Your Financial Security
We invest in both your short and long-term financial wellbeing. Ericsson’s Group Retirement & Savings Program offers an automatic 2% company contribution into the Pension Plan. Ericsson also offers a 50% match of employee’s contribution into the Registered Retirement Savings Plan, up to 8% of the employee’s contribution (maximum of 4% match). This leads to a total company contribution potential of 6%. Employees will also receive company credits in an amount equal to the cost of basic life insurance and basic accidental death and dismemberment coverage, as well as short-term disability coverage. Employees also have the option to participate in Ericsson’s Stock Purchase Plan.
Your Time
Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 18 days of accrued vacation, 3-5 personal days (depending on role), 10 holidays, 1 volunteer day, and sick days. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee’s start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 10 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
