Business Team Leader
REPORTS TO: Vice President-North America Sales
WORKS WITH: , Inside Sales, SBDT, SMLT, PST, Product Management
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Business Team Sales and Service Associates
GENERAL SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The Business Team Leader will provide leadership to the Business Team to achieve profitable and sustainable growth in a way that is consistent with AstenJohnson’s corporate vision, mission and core values.
BUSINESS TEAM LEADER SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drives safety culture to the Team consistent with ZAC
- 100% responsible and accountable for all Business Team results/performance including L3s
- Drives strategic direction for the Business Team that is consistent with AJ L2 targets
- Effectively connects the Team with MS Teams meetings as well as in person meetings
- Communicates results to the Team and areas that need to be improved
- Helps coordinate corporate account communication
- Effectively communicates internally the status of the Team
- Drives value and pricing opportunities
- Negotiates credits to a WIN/WIN resolution
PEOPLE
- Field associates will report to the Business Team Leader
- Business Team Leader is the Business Team “decision maker” and “go to” person
- Assures clearly defined direction and individual accountability
- Responsible for conducting performance reviews (professional and personal development)
- Responsible for compensation recommendations
- Utilizes VP of Sales as a resource in resolving personnel issues
- Establishes team member roles, responsibilities and sales growth targets
- Identify associate’s strengths and areas requiring improvement or behavior changes in order to meet or exceed business profit targets
- Coach, develop and consistently inspect adherence to Team, Account, and individual strategies and business performance
BUSINESS TEAM LEADER REQUIREMENTS:
- 4 year degree or industry leadership
- 10 years in the paper industry
- 2 years minimum in field sales
- Must be willing to travel 60% or more to customer sites and intercompany meetings/training
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and auto insurance
- Must comply with AstenJohnson and customer mill safety requirements
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs, tolerate potential paper manufacturing process fumes, and other industrial conditions. This will require walking on slippery surfaces, climbing vertical ladders and climbing catwalk stairs while carrying equipment
- Attend annual AstenJohnson safety training
- Exhibit personal conduct that will reflect the Company’s core values at all times, and follow all applicable Company policies and procedures
