ABOUT THE ROLE

Join our team in delivering exceptional rehabilitative care at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. As a physiotherapist, you’ll work across a wide range of acute care areas, including medical, surgical, stroke, pediatrics, mental health, emergency, and ICU, as well as specialized outpatient orthopedic and hand clinic services. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate within a dynamic interprofessional team and make a meaningful impact on patient recovery. Inpatient referrals are coordinated through the Meditech system, with outpatient access via physician referral.

WHAT YOU BRING

Education/Experience:

• A degree or equivalent from an accredited Physiotherapy program

• Active registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO) is mandatory; however PT Residents appropriate with supervision available

Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to manage a clinical practice in a health care setting

• Ability to complete analysis, using clinical knowledge, skill and judgement to synthesize assessment and additional information

• Ability to assess and treat acute and chronic orthopaedic, neurological, geriatric and cardio-respiratory conditions

• Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing

• Ability to work independently, interdependently, and collaboratively within a model of inter-professional care

• Ability to develop and maintain respectful partnerships

• Ability to lead inter-professional and inter-organizational collaboration, to facilitate an excellent client care experience

• Commitment to clinical excellence and use of Best Practices

• Demonstrated commitment to People-Centred Care approach and principles

• Ability to demonstrate reflective practice

• Demonstrated expertise in program/ project planning implementation, and evaluation

• Strong time management, analytical/critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Ability to use independent judgment and maintain confidentiality of records, actions, and information

• Adept in the use of MS Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)

• Demonstrated regular attendance at work

Assets:

• Membership in Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA) and Ontario Physiotherapy Association (OPA) are strongly encouraged

Conditions of Employment:

• This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
