Role Overview
The Sr. Project Coordinator will oversee digital model creation, shop drawing development, and fabrication strategy. This role is responsible for leading the digital aspect of projects by utilizing expert CAD skills and exceptional organizational abilities. The Sr. Project Coordinator will work autonomously while effectively managing priorities with the support of the Project Leader and Sr Project Leader. The Sr. Project Coordinator will collaborate with other key members of the project team to ensure seamless project execution from Design Assist through Fabrication.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Collaborate with external team members under the guidance of Project Leader and Sr Project Leader to devise innovative solutions to complex problems
- Collaborate with internal project teams to effectively support project development with minimal support/supervision, using knowledge base and experience to make informed recommendations
- Support project strategy development by ensuring digital models, scope overviews, joinery and connection proposals, schedules, estimates, and logistics are efficiently generated and effectively communicated both internally and externally
Modelling & Drafting
- Remain at the forefront of software development and evolution, including platforms like Cadwork, to guarantee that operations consistently operate at the highest level
- Ensure that best practices and SOPs specific to modelling and drafting are efficiently documented and effectively shared within Digital Planning
- Convert digital models between various software, ensuring effective and consistent model organization and adherence to standards
- Perform high quality and complex modelling and drafting exercise
- Oversee the development of 3D models and shop drawing packages on a project-specific basis, delegating and overseeing task work while providing guidance to team members as required
Contract Support & Procurement
- Support Project Leader and Sr Project Leader with project-specific estimating and quoting activities
- Generate material take-offs and perform quantity surveying on a project-specific basis
- Ensure the efficient and timely development of project documentation to enable effective estimating, delegating and overseeing task work while providing mentorship and guidance to team members where required
- Support Project Leader and Sr Project Leader with change order management and contract coordination
- Contribute to project-specific material procurement and purchasing with minimal oversight from Project Leader and Sr Project Leader
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and components
Communication & Quality Assurance
- Ensure quality control processes are adhered to
- Ensure QA/QC standards are upheld
- Maintain an open and collaborative approach within the project team
Fabrication Liaising
- Hold responsibility for the development of project-specific production drawings and lists, delegating task work to Project Coordinators where appropriate
- Collaborate with the Technical Office to prepare and hand off projects for CNC processing and fabrication
- Actively participate in internal project kick-off meetings, ensuring that all project-specific goals and standards are effectively communicated
- Document and monitor fabrication progress, ensuring project-specific QA/QC is communicated and adhered to
Mentorship & Training
- Leverage experience to onboard and mentor Project Coordinators, facilitating knowledge sharing, and fostering skill development within Digital Planning
- Support project teams by efficiently performing and delegating tasks, ensuring that projects are developed and executed on time and to the highest standards
- Provide guidance and oversight to Project Coordinators on project-specific tasks

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, Attributes
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in architecture, project management, construction management, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience as a Project Coordinator (or equivalent) in timber fabrication, mass timber, architecture, steel detailing/fabrication, or construction
- High proficiency in Cadwork and architectural modeling software (Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper)
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment while working autonomously
- High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks with a strong graphic sensibility
- Experience in construction, particularly framing, carpentry, or steel fabrication/erection (preferred)
Schedule and Working Conditions
- Ability to work 8:30am – 5:00pm Monday to Friday
- Ability to work on-site at Spearhead offices
- Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a regular basis
- Ability to move and carry materials up to 20 lbs on an occasional basis
Compensation
- Pay range estimate is $75-$95K commensurate with experience and qualifications
