About the Opportunity
Our Calgary branch is looking to add a dynamic and self-motivated Communications and Engagement Consultant to our growing team. Are you passionate about strategic communications and meaningful community engagement? This is an exciting opportunity to combine strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and mentorship in a role where your contributions will have a meaningful impact on communities.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Work collaboratively with planners, engineers, and consulting teams to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and accessible language for a variety of platforms and audiences (e.g., social media posts, media releases, posters, etc.)

Shape public-facing messaging that clearly convey project goals, foster understanding, and strengthen client and community confidence

Support communities through complex or sensitive topics by helping navigate ambiguity and providing strategic guidance

Work alongside graphic designers to develop communications and public engagement materials (e.g., fact sheets, newsletters, presentations, signage, etc.)

Track the effectiveness of communications and engagement activities by defining success metrics, analyzing audience engagement, and identifying emerging trends

Grow our service offerings by building strong relationships through a people-centered approach—enhancing our reputation in the market and fostering meaningful collaboration across teams

Support and mentor colleagues, creating opportunities for others to develop their skills and capacity in communications
About You
Our ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Media Studies, or a related field, with 4-8 years of relevant experience in strategic communications.

You have proven expertise in strategic communications and stakeholder engagement, with some knowledge or experience in issues management (e.g., media relations, navigating social discourse, and responding to mis/disinformation).

You are an excellent communicator who can convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences and produce high-quality content across a range of topics under varying deadlines.

You are highly collaborative and genuinely interested in sharing your knowledge and experience to support colleagues and foster a team environment where growth and learning are valued.

Competitive Compensation and Benefits. You'll receive competitive compensation, extended health, dental, vision care coverage, and more. This position will have a salary range of $75,000.00**- $95,000.00** per year based on a 40-hour work week. The range is negotiable based on your skillset and experience.
