About the role

At Teknion, we believe in empowering our people, and we're looking for an Edgebanding Operator who wants to become an expert in performance and efficiency. You will learn and apply the advanced setups and processes that drive our industry-leading quality and throughput. We're looking for a motivated operator who is eager to learn how to optimize machinery for peak performance.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Master the setup and calibration of the edgebander, precisely adjusting feed speeds, cutter heads, and pressure settings to meet exact job specifications.
  • Conduct continuous in-process quality control, meticulously inspecting finished products for perfect edge alignment, adhesion, and overall finish.
  • Take ownership of machine performance by conducting routine preventative maintenance and proactively troubleshooting operational issues to minimize downtime.
  • Drive production goals by working efficiently and independently, optimizing machine settings and workflows to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Uphold the highest safety standards by rigorously following all company protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Inspect and prepare all raw materials, ensuring components meet strict quality and dimensional standards before the edgebanding process begins.

PREREQUISITES

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent skills and experience.
  • Minimum 2+ years experience working on an edgebander or similar machine, and 2+ years experience in manufacturing.
  • Must be organized and able to prioritize work activities based upon primary duties.
  • Is inquisitive by nature and driven by the "pursuit of excellence" to consistently ensure constant growth and achievement.
  • Demonstrates good initiative working safely, reporting and participating in Environmental Health and Safety.
