Technical Project Lead (ID#5471)
About the role
New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a Technical Project Lead to support a Clinical Ancillary Services portfolio as part of a large-scale data centre migration initiative. This role will represent a portfolio of critical clinical applications and coordinate migration planning, application readiness, technical dependencies, testing, cutover activities, and post-migration stabilization.
The successful candidate will work closely with Clinical Ancillary Services leadership, application owners, infrastructure, network and security teams, clinical stakeholders, external vendors, and the broader data centre migration project team.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary Clinical Ancillary Services representative for a portfolio of clinical applications participating in the data centre migration. Coordinate migration planning activities, including application readiness assessments, inventory validation, dependency mapping, migration sequencing, and operational readiness. Identify and document application, infrastructure, network, security, integration, hosting, vendor, and operational dependencies. Coordinate application testing before and after migration events to confirm application readiness, functionality, and stability. Support cutover planning and execution, including implementation planning, stakeholder coordination, issue escalation, and post-migration validation. Monitor project progress, risks, issues, decisions, dependencies, and mitigation activities. Facilitate working sessions involving infrastructure, network, security, application support, vendors, clinical stakeholders, and operational teams. Support transition-to-operations and stabilization activities to maintain continuity of service for critical clinical systems. Lead structured discovery sessions with technical and operational stakeholders. Support application inventory, assessment, rationalization, and future-state planning activities. Develop project and technical artifacts, including migration plans, readiness assessments, dependency maps, process and data-flow diagrams, requirements documentation, testing strategies, risk registers, implementation plans, and application or infrastructure diagrams. Develop reusable knowledge-transfer materials and deliver knowledge-sharing sessions on topics such as cloud fundamentals, application architecture, integrations, emerging technologies, and technical best practices.
Requirements
7-10+ years of experience leading or supporting complex technical projects within large enterprise environments Demonstrated experience planning and coordinating infrastructure, data centre, application migration or technology transformation initiatives Proven experience managing application portfolios through major infrastructure changes, including migration planning, dependency management, testing coordination, cutover planning, and operational readiness activities Strong understanding of enterprise architectures, integrations, hosting environments, infrastructure dependencies, and operational support models Proven ability to identify, assess, and mitigate technical and operational risks associated with infrastructure and application migration initiatives Experience working with cross-functional teams spanning business and technical domains Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable information for both technical and non-technical audiences Experience developing project artifacts such as migration plans, dependency maps, readiness assessments, testing strategies, risk registers, and implementation plans
Preferred qualifications include
Experience leading or supporting large-scale data centre migrations, infrastructure modernization programs, or cloud transformation initiatives Experience with Microsoft Azure, hybrid hosting environments, or enterprise cloud migration strategies Experience conducting application inventory, assessment, and rationalization activities Experience within a healthcare or other highly regulated environment supporting mission-critical applications Business Analysis certification (CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA) and/or project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile certifications) considered an asset Strong planning, coordination, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent migration activities and priorities Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and risk management capabilities Ability to navigate complex technical and operational environments and build consensus among diverse stakeholder groups Proactive, detail-oriented, and delivery-focused with a strong commitment to ensuring successful project outcomes Comfortable working in ambiguous and evolving environments while maintaining focus on timelines, dependencies, and critical deliverables
