##What is the Opportunity?
Managing the activities associated with the execution of all performance events at the RCM, the Production Manager oversees the event operations of all stage equipment, and support spaces and the supervision of stage management crews. This position requires sufficient managerial skills to lead, oversee and work as a team with the technical, production and stage management staff. Reporting to the General Manager, Performing Arts, the Production Manager will serve as official production representative for events that take place at the RCM. Working on weekends, evenings, and occasional holidays will be required. The Interim Production Manager shall maintain a positive attitude toward the RCM, other employees and all users of the RCM.
##Main Duties & Responsibilities
Supervision & Management

Manages all production aspects of Koerner Hall and other RCM performance spaces, theatrical equipment, technical support spaces and related building equipment in the most efficient manner.

Manages and supervises staff on the Performing Arts Division’s production team, including the Associate Production Manager, part-time recording engineers and head/house crew members who are called as required.

Maintains the highest quality services possible for all theatrical and performance events at the RCM ranging from classical, jazz, and pop music concerts to corporate and social events, to symposia to academic events.

ls the primary on-site contact for local and visiting technical personnel concerning the proper use of the facilities and theatrical equipment.

Provides on-site production management during event set-up, running and strike, resolving problems as they arise.

Maintains regular flow of stage reports, daily reports, billing information and settlement information to the appropriate RCM departments and renting organizations.

Anticipates problems and initiates corrective action, keeping senior management informed of problems of a serious nature or of those having a broad impact.

Coordinates all production information with all users and all appropriate RCM departments (House, Box Office, Programming, Security, Maintenance, Custodial, Communications, etc.).

Acts as liaison between incoming production staff and RCM production staff including setting daily load-in and rehearsal schedules, ordering backline or additional technical equipment.

Communicates corporate, health and safety and human resources policies and ensures compliance by staff and clients/promoters.
Staff
- Coordinates the hiring of, and supervises and directs all full-time and hourly production staff according to standard RCM procedures.
- Coordinates routine communication between the RCM and production labor provider(s)/users, including developing and issuing call-in labor schedules. Coordinates production personnel and technical specifications with all users (RCM programs, professional presentations and renting organizations).
Budget & Financial
- Assists the General Manager in development and administration of production/technical budget.
- Prepares production cost estimates and budgets for RCP concerts, all academic and development concerts & events, and all facility rental events. While having ultimate authority over all events and concerts, some of these may be delegated to Associate Manager, Production.
- Schedules and rents production equipment from external suppliers to meet event requirements.
- Provides complete and accurate settlement information to event coordinators relating to production costs. Maintains inventory of supplies and replacement items within production/technical budgets.
Policy & Planning
- Develops and maintains all RCM policies, rules and regulations with regard to production operations and team members.
- Analyzes events when required to identify ways to improve overall service standards and operational efficiencies.
- Attends weekly operations and booking meetings.
- Schedules production meetings. Works in collaboration with other members of the management team to develop solutions to organization-wide problems and contribute to the achievement of overall organizational goals.
Performs other duties as required.
Job Requirements:
##What We're Looking For
- A minimum 7 years of experience as a Production Manager in a performing arts centre or similar.
- Strong leadership skills and solid experience coordinating and supervising subordinates and co-workers.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and CAD.
- Knowledge of and relationships with other performance venues to discuss best practices, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of IATSE and IBEW standard practices.
- Knowledge of all types of theatrical equipment, sound, lighting, stage, and IT systems as used in corporate and broadcast events.
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure while cognizant of personal time management in order to avoid burnout.
- Excellent communication, negotiating and decision-making skills.
##Salary Range
- Pro-rated from $90,000 per annum.
##Additional Information
- This opportunity is a temporary 6-month contract.
- The role involves evening, weekend, and shift work as required by schedule, within weekly limits. This includes many 12-hour workdays for show/load-in days.
