As a Talent Acquisition & Employee Experience Specialist, you'll play a vital role in shaping the employee journey, from attracting and hiring top talent to ensuring exceptional onboarding and supporting ongoing engagement. This role manages full-cycle recruitment and onboarding, manages the employee recognition and engagement survey programs, and supports the performance and goal review processes. Acting as a connector between candidates, new hires, and leaders, this role ensures that every employee touchpoint reflects the organization’s culture, values, and commitment to excellence.
This is an in-office position based out of our Head Office in Kelowna, BC.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition and Employer Branding
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for assigned departments, including job posting, sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checking, and offers.
- Partner with hiring managers to define workforce needs, develop job descriptions, and design structured interview processes.
- Prepare employment offers, agreements, and onboarding documentation; maintain applicant tracking system (ClearCompany) and track key recruitment metrics.
- Execute recruitment marketing and employer branding initiatives to attract top talent, including social media, job boards, and community partnerships.
- Build proactive talent pipelines through relationships with post-secondary institutions, associations, and career fairs.
Onboarding and Employee Experience
- Coordinate all aspects of onboarding for a seamless and engaging new hire experience, including system setup (UKG Ready), and partnering with IT, Operations, and hiring managers to ensure equipment, workspace, and access needs are met.
- Schedule and facilitate new hire orientations, introduce company values, policies, and culture, and track probationary/90-day review completion.
- Maintain onboarding materials, schedules, and checklists, and collect feedback to enhance retention and employee experience.
Employee Engagement, Recognition, and Culture
- Support annual employee engagement surveys, track results, and coordinate follow-up actions.
- Track and report on goal setting, performance reviews, and 90-day review completion across all departments.
- Administer employee recognition programs, including service milestones, peer nominations, and culture initiatives.
- Partner with People & Culture Manager on engagement and culture-building initiatives, reporting on trends and metrics.
People and Culture Systems, Data, and Reporting
- Serve as a superuser for HR systems (ADP, UKG Ready), ensuring accurate employee data and supporting continuous improvement.
- Generate and analyze reports on recruitment, onboarding, engagement, and performance tracking; maintain job descriptions, org charts, and employee records in compliance with privacy standards.
People and Culture Support
- Collaborate on workforce planning, engagement, recognition projects, and People & Culture communications.
- Provide responsive support to employees and managers on general inquiries; participate in special projects to enhance HR programs and services.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business, or Communications.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in recruitment, onboarding, or People & Culture coordination.
- Experience preparing offers, HR documentation, and setting up new hires in HRIS systems.
- Strong working knowledge of employment law and HR best practices in BC, Alberta, and Ontario.
- Proficiency with HRIS/ATS systems (UKG).
- Experience coordinating engagement surveys, performance, or recognition programs.
- Excellent communication, relationship management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and confidentiality.
- CPHR designation or working toward certification is an asset.
- Experience in construction, property management, or development sectors is an asset.
