We are continuing to grow, and are looking for a Team Lead, Software Engineering to join our team**.**

This position assists the development manager ensure that development best practices are followed by the development team. Another important part of this role would be to assist the Development Manager in designing, building, and leading the next version of the product.

  • Kubernetes Tools: kubectl, Helm, Headlamp, YAML manifests
  • DevOps & Monitoring: Application Insights, Azure Monitor, Grafana
  • Development Practices: TDD, BDD, Agile, Git (GitHub, Bitbucket), code reviews

Primary Responsibilities

  • Be the primary technical contact point for the team.
  • Oversee the code reviews, offer coaching and general technical guidance to the developers.
  • Be an advocate of development best practices including TDD and BDD.
  • Ability to learn and work with existing code base, make improvements where necessary and provide ongoing development and support on the existing version of the product.
  • Be comfortable in system design and able to assist in defining, design and build the next version of the product.
  • Write maintainable, clean, re-usable, object-oriented, and efficient programming code in compliance with the coding standards.
  • Be able to work on production and support issues, and work with different teams to resolve escalation issues from the field. Identify and advise improvements to the existing product to reduce escalation issues.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams on cloud architecture, Kubernetes patterns, and cloud deployments; review deployment decisions for alignment with application needs.
  • Troubleshoot deployment pipeline issues, container registry problems, and cloud resource provisioning.
  • Mentor team members on Kubernetes troubleshooting; establish application-level readiness patterns that support deployability.
  • Define and monitor SLOs/SLIs for microservices using cloud management tools; respond to operational alerts and incidents.
  • Learn and understand the technical details of all relevant products and having hands-on familiarity of the system as required.
  • Contribute fresh, new ideas during developer meetings demonstrating a commitment on-going learning.
  • Utilizing code coverage, code metrics, and other tools to improve quality of code.
  • Guide integration of AI into development workflow; establish code review practices for AI-generated code and quality standards.
  • Optimize database deployments; advise on performance tuning, query optimization, resource allocation, and cost efficiency.
  • Mentor and assist in the training and on-boarding of other team members

Skills Required

  • A minimum of 8 years of hands-on software development experience, with at least 3 years leading a team of engineers.
  • Proficient English written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Experience working with JIRA is preferred.
  • Hands on experience with Microservices and Docker is required.
  • Kubernetes/AKS (2+ years), Helm interpretation, GitOps/ArgoCD familiarity
  • Azure services: AKS, ACR, App Insights, networking, Key Vault
  • Azure SQL Database: Managed Instances, Elastic Pools, performance tuning, monitoring
  • GitHub Copilot integration leadership; can guide AI-assisted code practices
  • Container debugging (Headlamp/kubectl); deployment troubleshooting
  • Cross-functional DevOps collaboration experience is preferred
  • Experience working with NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB, etc.) or any Cloud offerings (Azure, AWS, etc.) is nice to have.
  • Experience with all or most of the technologies listed in the tech stack section above, with the ability to quickly learn and research new trends and technologies as they appear.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple departments and teams, demonstrating high-quality interpersonal skills, including good listening skills, respectful treatment of others, and professional behavior contributing to a positive and enjoyable environment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually with a self-starter ("can do") attitude.
  • Comfortable speaking and interacting with technical and non-technical people.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and organization skills with an exceptional eye for detail
  • Ability to perform work activities according to set priorities and delivery timelines.
  • Ability to take constructive criticism.
  • Ability to perform work activities for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Desire to participate in speaking engagements or be involved within user or other community groups or any other events attended by the department.
  • Diploma or degree in Computer Science or Engineering is required.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment is an asset.
