JOB SUMMARY:
Lantic is currently recruiting for the position of Energy Manager based at our Montreal refinery. The Energy Manager is responsible for the performance, reliability, and energy optimization of all industrial facilities. He/she leads the plant's energy strategy, maximizes resource efficiency, and drives the integration of innovative technologies to achieve world-class standards, while ensuring safe and sustainable operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement an energy master plan with quantified performance and cost reduction targets;
  • Ensure rigorous monitoring of energy KPIs and the performance of critical equipment;
  • Ensure continuous and optimal operation of energy facilities (thermal power plant, steam, compressed air);
  • Maintain boilers in optimal condition;
  • Supervise preventive and predictive maintenance with a high level of reliability;
  • Deploy 4.0 tools and technologies (smart sensors, IoT, artificial intelligence) to optimize energy performance and generate measurable savings on operating costs;
  • Lead energy recovery projects and the integration of sustainable solutions, ensuring maximum return on investment and long-term reduction of energy costs;
  • Integrate Lean principles into energy operations to eliminate waste, improve operational efficiency, and contribute to a continuous reduction of financial costs;
  • Implement and maintain security and fire alarm programs and insurer requirements;
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory/environmental standards;
  • Ensure that all tests, inspections, and regulatory requirements are completed on time (certificates, CSA/ASME standards);
  • Train, coach, and mobilize technical teams to achieve operational excellence;
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement/waste reduction;
  • Negotiate and challenge supplier/contractor contracts to obtain optimized services and advantageous terms.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • University degree in mechanical, electrical, or energy engineering or equivalent training deemed relevant;
  • 7 to 10 years of experience in a similar environment;
  • Proficiency in CMMS (Maximo or equivalent) and energy monitoring systems;
  • Solid understanding of safety, reliability, and sustainability standards;
  • CLASS 1 Competency Card;
  • Certification: PMP, CMVP, CEM, CRL Black Belt (an asset);
  • Ability to remain productive and clear-headed under pressure;
  • Ability to make confident decisions in complex contexts;
  • Ability to navigate changing environments and unforeseen circumstances;
  • Ability to influence and mobilize multidisciplinary teams;
  • Ability to foster internal and interdepartmental collaboration;
  • Ability to ensure a structured management of projects, budgets, and resources;
  • Willingness to invest in team growth;
  • Ability to anticipate future needs and plan for the long term.
