MAKE AN IMPACT THAT MATTERS
We’re looking for a motivated and technically capable Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Ottawa office and contribute to a diverse portfolio of high-profile projects across the National Capital Region. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a firm with a long-standing presence in Ottawa and a newly established permanent office that reflects our continued growth and commitment to the region.
Your work will span projects for notable clients and facilities such as Ottawa General Hospital, Algonquin College, Carleton University, the University of Ottawa, Tunney’s Pasture, national museums, federal government buildings, and major financial institutions. You’ll apply your technical electrical engineering skills to develop practical, reliable, and efficient solutions, while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to meet project goals, schedules, and client expectations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Recognized technical subject matter expert within the organization
- Responsible for the technical design for complex projects, often involving multiple drawings, technical complexity, high value, and multiple trades
- Assesses design constructability and develops design specification for complex designs
- Participates in project planning and project management meetings and provides improvement recommendations to ensure project deliverables and timelines are met
- Peer reviews work of more junior engineers
- Reviews and signs off on complex engineering reports and standards
- Completes project work on time and within budget
- Leads teams in the technical design of complex projects
- Accountable for all designs through to construction completion
- Ensures technical accuracy of all project files and documentation
- Other duties as required
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- P.Eng with PEO.
- 10+ years engineering consulting experience.
- Experienced in Plant Design
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.
- Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas.
- Good accuracy and documentation skills.
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary team.

TOTAL REWARDS
The expected salary for this role is between $100,000 to $140,000 annually. Base salaries are determined considering several factors such as skills and competencies, experience, education, and internal and external competitiveness. Along with your base salary we offer a wide array of programs that include our Short Term Incentive bonus program, technical and business training, mentoring, wellness initiatives, the opportunity to participate in our coveted Defined Benefit Pension plan, flexible work arrangement, and hybrid work structure.

HH Angus and Associates Limited was founded in 1919 and today is one of Canada’s larger private engineering firms. Since its inception, HH Angus has been providing consulting engineering services to a broad range of clients in the Institutional, Commercial, and Industrial sectors, in addition to our current deep portfolio of work both in the energy generation / distribution industry, and in the technology sector. Along the way, HH Angus spawned affiliate firms in facility management (ACML) and in management software (ASGL). More recent initiatives include merging our IMIT engineering skills with our health care operational consulting in our Angus Connect Division, and enhancing our project management consulting.
