About the Role
The Bridge Youth & Family Services requires a Program Facilitator to ensure the physical, emotional, and social needs of participants in the organization's Recovery & Addiction Programs. The Program Facilitator(s) provides assessment, treatment planning and implementation for participants of the program. Delivers psycho-educational workshops and teaches mindfulness based relapse prevention and coping strategies. Utilizes community resources to facilitate achievement of treatment goals and transition planning. The position aids the participant in identifying and understanding personal issues and in establishing and achieving specific, attainable goals necessary to recovery.
This is an internal-only posting; please ensure you meet all qualifications. Training for causal positions will begin in May.
Position: Casual
Compensation: $33.12 - $38.62 per hour plus applicable shift premiums
- Evening shift premium – additional $3.50 per hour between 1900hr-0700hr
- Weekend shift premium – additional $2.50 per hour between 2400hr (midnight) Friday – 2400hr (midnight) Sunday
- Shift premiums compound- additional $6.00 per hour between 1900hr-0700hr from 2400hr (midnight) Friday – 2400hr (midnight) Sunday
- Facility-Based Role Premium – additional $1.00 per hour for facility-based roles
Qualifications
Education and experience
-
Minimum Undergraduate Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Related Field.

3 years experience working with addictions and mental health
-
Training and experience providing evidence-based responses/ therapeutic interventions to individuals experiencing alcohol use disorder, substance use disorder or concurrent disorder.

Demonstrated group facilitation and counselling skills,
-
Experience creating and working within a culturally inclusive environment.
Job skills and abilities
- Excellent communication skills, orally and in writing
- Ability to build strong, collaborative working relationships with external and internal stakeholders
- Demonstrated crisis management, decision-making, conflict resolution, time management, and problem-solving skills.

We embrace the Okanagan community with two distinct arms of service. One, focusing on community and families by working preventatively with new parents and their infants, counselling families who are struggling with their role, and working on behalf of the Ministry of Children and Family Development with young people in our community who are the most marginalized, street entrenched and disenfranchised.
Our second focus includes our recovery and addictions programs. The Bridge is the largest provider of substance use services for the Interior Health Authority, we provide Supported Recovery Housing, Intensive Live-In Adult Treatment, community-based naloxone training, Outreach Overdose Prevention, and Withdrawal Management – detox – for both young people and adults.
Governed by a committed Board of Directors, led by a seasoned Executive Director, and supported by a team of more than 100 professional staff and volunteers, the organization has consistently demonstrated its capacity to effectively and responsively meet the needs of the community it serves.
