About the role

Le St-Augustin, a friendly private seniors' residence, is seeking a person to fill a part-time daytime Personal Support Worker position. ***Candidates must hold a Personal Support Worker/Personal Care Attendant (PSW/PAA) or DEP (Diploma of Vocational Studies) in Personal Assistance in Institutions and at Home, or a Recognition of Acquired Competencies (RAC) certificate, or have accumulated 5,000 hours of PAB (Personal Support Worker) training within the last 5 years, plus current 16-hour CPR certification and completed PDSP (Personal Support and Care Plan).***

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Schedule: 5/14 day shift

ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist and/or accompany residents in getting around
  • Contribute to the adjustment of a residents' action plan based on their observations
  • Contribute to the development of a residentsè action plan based on their observations
  • Distribute medication in pill organizers and provide some invasive care (as needed and provided you have the necessary training)
  • Respond to all emergency situations
  • While interacting with them, report any noticeable changes in a residents mental or physical health to the on-call nurse.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Up-to-date CPR/AED general first aid training
  • Law 90 training (an asset)
  • AP/RPA or DEP training in personal assistance in establishments and at home
  • PDSP training
