Summary
Responsible for providing office secretarial and receptionist functions, accounting duties and manages office operations in the office or school.
SCOPE
Works under the direction of the Executive Assistant or Principal or Director and in accordance with W̱SÁNEĆ School Board policy/procedure to provide services for administration, the Daycare Department, ȽÁU,WELṈEW̱ Tribal School, W̱SÁNEĆ Leadership Secondary School or W̱SÁNEĆ College. The position provides services to students, parents and the public as required.
HOURS OF WORK
Up to seven (7) hrs per day based on a schedule to be determined in accordance with the operational needs of the W̱SÁNEĆ School Board.
Required Competencies
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Minimum word processing speed of 50 wpm An ability to communicate written & verbally, clearly and constructively Knowledge and experience of student incentives and nominal roll is preferred Accuracy and attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality Knowledge of WSÁNEĆ School Board Policies, Procedures and Regulations are an asset
Level 1
Grade 12 plus one-year related experience
Level 2
Grade 12 Certificate in Office Administration plus four-year related experience

We are part of the W̱SÁNEĆ School Board and we offer numerous courses and programs to serve the local community including early literacy programs, adult upgrading, post secondary programming, onsite childcare services and a hot lunch program.
W̱SÁNEĆ College (formerly SAEC: Saanich Adult Education Centre) is home to a variety of programs that serve to meet the needs of the individual learner – ages 15 and upward. The main focus is Adult Graduation (Adult Dogwood), in addition to the provision of programming that supports post secondary pre-requisite coursework, early literacy, onsite post secondary programs and SENĆOŦEN language classes.
