About the role

ECO Canada is seeking experienced and dynamic trainers from across the country to join our roster of instructional professionals. Trainers will be called upon to deliver high-quality training sessions on a variety of topics as needed.

This is a flexible, roster-based position ideal for individuals with a passion for teaching and subject matter expertise in one or more of the following areas: building science, national energy codes, and energy efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and effective training sessions (in-person, virtual, or hybrid) based on provided curriculum or customized content.
  • Facilitate interactive learning experiences using adult learning principles.
  • Adapt training delivery to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and training records.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement of training materials.
  • Collaborate with program coordinators and other trainers to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in training and development.

ECO Canada Qualification Criteria Trainers must possess the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience delivering training or facilitation in areas such as building science, national energy codes, and energy efficiency.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with adult learning methodologies and instructional design principles.
  • Ability to manage group dynamics and foster a positive learning environment.
  • Proficiency with virtual training platforms (e.g., Zoom, MS Teams).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the area of expertise (industry and/or academia).
  • Fluency in French is an asset.

Additional Information:

  • This is a roster-based position; trainers will be contacted based on course demand and availability.
  • Compensation will be provided per session or per diem, depending on the course and delivery format.
  • Travel may be required for in-person sessions.
