About the role

Position: Maintenance Planner

Location: Mississauga

Compensation: $36.65 CAD per hour

Summary Description Under the general supervision of the Plant Maintenance Engineer, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning and scheduling daily maintenance activities required to properly maintain all plant equipment. Safety and employee health take priority over all other responsibilities in this role.

The primary focus of this position is to plan and schedule preventive maintenance activities that support a culture of Zero Breakdowns through proactive maintenance practices.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Plan and schedule all maintenance jobs with safety as the top priority
  • Ensure maintenance work is thoroughly planned and scheduled in a timely manner
  • Communicate planned work clearly to affected departments and stakeholders
  • Ensure all required parts, tools, and materials are kitted and available before work begins
  • Collaborate with maintenance owners to determine work priorities
  • Identify improvement opportunities including safety risks and PM task enhancements
  • Assist in developing and executing continuous improvement plans
  • Own and coordinate planned maintenance downtime
  • Maintain and utilize CMMS systems at an advanced level
  • Support preventive and predictive maintenance strategies across the plant
  • Work across departments to coordinate daily maintenance execution
  • Ensure maintenance work is completed efficiently without delays caused by missing parts, tools, or manpower
  • Partner with maintenance owners to improve PM effectiveness and eliminate breakdowns

  • You have a solid maintenance background with strong mechanical systems knowledge
  • You are highly organized and strong in planning and scheduling

  • You have strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
