Driver
Position Summary
We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced AZ Truck Driver to join our team out of our Fort Erie location. This is a full-time position for drivers with experience in flatbed trucking and hauling steel. Our routes are local, ensuring you're home every night and off on weekends.
As an AZ Driver you will be responsible for short-haul, local / regional deliveries of steel to a variety of customers all over Ontario. You will be operating and driving straight or articulated trucks to transport either Rebar and/or Structural steel to one of our many customers.
Position Functions
- Safely operate tractor-trailers and straight trucks to transport steel and related materials.
- Secure cargo using appropriate equipment and methods.
- Manually tarp loads when necessary.
- Adhere to all company safety regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Climb onto trailers and manipulate materials as required.
- Complete Electronic log book, inspection reports, accident / incident reports
- Other duties as assigned
Working Conditions
- The successful incumbent will be working 40+ hours per week operating and driving trucks.
- Driving and sitting for extended periods of time.
- Physical requirements include throwing up to 20lbs and lifting up to 75 lbs continuously.
- Climbing including repetitive in and out of truck cab and flatbed.

Preferred Qualifications
Valid AZ license - Clean CVOR & Drivers Abstract
Must pass a Pre-Employment road test and other pre-employment testing requirements.
Experience with flatbed trailers and steel hauling
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, throw up to 20 lbs, and climb on trailers repeatedly
Strong work ethic and attention to safety
Ability to work day shift - start times vary day to day.
Manual Transmission Required
Air Brake Adjustment Certificate
Clean Criminal record check, driving record check, medical exam, drug test
Sound knowledge of safe driving practices
Previous experience working in an industrial environment is an asset
