About the role
The IBM Public Sector Resourcing Team is seeking a Junior System Support Analyst for a contract opportunity in the Ottawa area. This role is full time on-site starting August 2025 to December 2025.
This role will involve working with technology that is covered by Export Regulations sanctions. To be eligible for this role, you must be a Canadian citizen or Canadian Permanent Resident. If a dual or third nationality is held, in addition to being either a Canadian citizen, the nationality must be from one of the below approved countries to be eligible for employment in this role: Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Netherlands, New Zealand, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Türkiye, United Kingdom, United States.
Requested Skill Sets:
- Inventory Management and Organization
- Microsoft/ Windows Desktop Support, familiar with hands-on hardware and debugging
- Server(s) Installation and maintenance
- Configuration of MS Office and Exchange
- Virtualization, including VMs and Containers
- Backups and Restorations (e.g. Clonezilla, etc. and other apps)
- Self starter and able to work solo, in monitoring of existing and/or potential issues
- Experience with Air Gapped networks, including understanding of debugging, installations and management pitfalls
Nice to Have Experience / Skills:
- Experience with / understanding of automation (e.g. Ansible and playbooks creation)
- CI/CD pipelines
- Functioning as Team Lead or in a Leadership capacity
- Linux
- MS Certifications
